Hampton Inn Rock Springs

It's all about customer service! After a long, tiring day on the road it was so nice to be welcomed by Victoria as I trudged in the front door to check in. She was so welcoming and I barely blinked my eyes and she had us checked in, provided cold bottles of water, gave us extra coffee packages for our room, offered fresh cookies, and provided a quiet room on the top floor as I had requested. Victoria even sent a text later to make sure that everything with our stay was perfect! Our stay here at the Hampton Inn at Rock Springs has by far exceeded our expectations and has far exceeded all of our other stays during this road trip through western Colorado based solely on my check-in experience. Everywhere else we stayed during this road trip could use some badly needed customer service training from Victoria!

Family there for tragic death. Kyle was at the door next morning with flowers. Kyra was wonderful the whole time. And her stand in was as well. Staff was great, polite and caring! I cannot thank them enough! They all gave us tons of advice. Helped us locate certain places and were witness to a family coming back from the depths of grief. Kind and caring staff, totally!

While this Hampton physically is like many other outdated Hamptons, the service at this one stood out. The woman who worked the breakfast buffet on 3/4, went out of her way to make each guest welcomed and have their needs met. In addition, we had a problem and the staff more than adequately addressed it. We will certainly return should we stay in Rock Springs again.

Saturday night in Rock Springs WY. The occupants in the next room were partying well past the 10pm quiet time, and I waited until 10:45 to report to the front desk when they cranked up the volume and began stomping across the floor in lively dance moves. The person on duty indicated she was "about to make rounds" and in ten minutes all was quiet. Only to start up again at 11:15 and by 11:30 I was in another room to avoid the confrontation that was about to begin. The hotel and staff was not hesitant to deal with the issue and I commend their efforts to keep me out of the confrontation.

Nice Hampton overall, but room decor was a little dated. TV channel selection is very sparse. Carpeting could use a refresh (color makes it look dingy/dirty). Morning breakfast was slightly sub-par--missing oatmeal toppings and biscuit gravy was very bland (although many Hiltons don't even have biscuits with gravy). There is no canteen/food pantry for purchasing chips or drinks. (I was told their upcoming re-model will add one.) Hotel definitely needs a "refresh". Until then, you might consider other Hilton area hotels, although this one may be fine if short on time.
