Hampton Inn By Hilton Wausau

I'm a Hilton Honors member and I try to stay at a Hilton property whenever possible. In Wausau, there are two choices; the Hilton Garden Inn and this place. I accidentally went to the Garden Inn first and should have stayed there. This place was extremely overpriced (the Garden Inn was cheaper) and the "view" out of my room was absolutely laughable (see photo). Never again.

"We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our stay. The rooms were clean, modern, and quiet. Our kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The staff was exceptional, from the friendly person at the front desk to the delightful individual who prepared the breakfast buffet. They even went the extra mile by offering us bananas with inspirational words written on them, like 'Manifest Gratitude.'"

A Hampton is a Hampton is a Hampton. This was a typical Hampton. Clean, decent breakfast, and the needed amenities. What made this one stand out however was the people. EVERY employee was extremely personable and helpful and you could tell wanted to make your stay the best it could be. A special shout out Cejae. She went above and beyond to make my stay the best it could be.

Great, HUGE room with a comfy bed that was ultra clean. Nice and quiet for a good night’s stop.I especially appreciated the shower, with good pressure and a shaving step for the ladies. Would stay again!

The hotel is in a good location by Highway 51 and 29. Breakfast was good and had good hot and cold options. Breakfast area is split up between the lobby, but it works ok. Room was clean, although there was a lingering disinfectant smell in the room. Didn't need to interact with the staff so not sure if they were friendly or not. We'll just assume that they were friendly. Housekeeping started at 7 am, which was quite early to start vacuuming. Had an issue with the digital key both at night and the next morning, but I wouldn't put the blame on the hotel for that.
