Holiday Inn Express & Suites Antigo an IHG Hotel

The hotel was clean. Our suite was big and clean. The pool was warm and clean. The hot tub was also clean. The staff was all very nice and helpful. The only suggestion I can make is the breakfast could have been better. Pancakes didn’t cook real well.

Appeared to be a great place but…. I booked a 2 queen standard mobility accessible room with a roll in shower 2 months prior to our stay. We arrive on 10/8 & are given keys to room 323 but when we get in the room it is NOT h/c accessible. Back down to the front desk & tell the employee that we need the room I booked. “Oh that rooms in use”. Ok I know enough about hotel reservations, specifically h/c units so I say “well when I booked that room you are supposed to take it out of the pool of available rooms”. So she puts us in a h/c “suite” back up to 3rd floor we go AGAIN! I wasn’t too happy with all the extra back & forth with my issues. Supposedly we are supposed to get some reduction in the rate but my card was charged & that hasn’t been changed or retracted yet. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Asked for a luggage cart & told us “We have one but don’t know where it is”. She gave us the maids laundry cart to use 🤦‍♀️ Now the room- the tv kept losing signal & flaking out. We could not turn off the annoying closed captioning on the tv either. The remote was filthy. Apparently the room is supposed to have a chair in the corner next to the table but that is missing. I could have used that since the sofa is like sitting on the floor. (Note…people with mobility issues can’t get out of something that low!) The walls are paper thin! Guys in the next room set an alarm at 5 am & I heard it before they did. Then they got up & proceeded to TALK for 45 minutes & I could hear their whole conversation! My review is that this place I’d definitely not up to IHG standards, which is my usual go to. Not sure that we will be staying the second night. Not a good experience.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for a family reunion and have stayed here in the past due to it's great location and amenities. The kids loved playing in the pool and hot tub, and breakfast was perfect for us. We stayed on the 3rd floor where the rooms were recently renovated. I LOVE the new room set up! Best hotel in Antigo by far!

I don’t know if it was the rainy weather outside or if this is how the hotel always is but it was DAMP in our room. The sheets felt wet, the furniture felt damp. Which of course leads to a musty smell. I don’t know if that’s because it was rainy outside or if is because of the old *needs to be cleaned* wall unit a/c (seriously there was debris you could see in the vents). It’s obviously a known issue because they had a dehumidifier in the hallway. Our king suite was spacious, but needed to be cleaned better. Only the most obvious surfaces were dusted. Everything was damp (as previously said) and/or sticky. The REAL bummer was the bathroom sink basically didn’t drain. It was late and we didn’t want to deal with maintenance in our room, so we just decided to tell them about it in the morning. Thankfully we had the wet bar sink. But - when we moved the drain strainer, the drain was CAKED in black sludge buildup. So gross. I cleaned that out myself. Once the bathroom sink did finish draining (it took about 10 minutes from the water used while washing hands) it brought a ring of hair and debris 🤢 up to the sink. If that sink is being cleaned properly in between each guest, I don’t know how it would go unnoticed. All this to say, we stayed there because it was the closest hotel to the location we needed to visit but we won’t be staying here again. It was just too gross for $150/night. The staff at checkin and checkout were very friendly. That was the only pleasant experience to our stay. Unfortunately that can’t make up for the other stuff.

We had six motorcycles of the American Harley Owners of Leisure (AHOLs) stay here for a night after a windy ride from Thiensville, WI circumnavigating the remnants of 6 tornadoes that went through Central Wisconsin the night before. We found this hotel clean and quiet which was just what we needed. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The breakfast the next morning was marginal at best. We would stay here again.
