MainStay Suites Fitchburg Madison

We recently spent two nights at this property. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The location was perfect for us as we were visiting relatives in the area. Would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting the Madison area.

Reserved 2 rooms for 1 night, needed 1 room for 2 nights, receptionist canceled the 2nd room and said I shouldn't be charged but if I did to call. We actually stayed 3 nights, however after returning home I called and the manager called me the next day and said he would refund my card. To date NO refund and when I called the desk (I was referred to the Fitchburg, WI Hotel, not the 800#, the woman wasn't helpful!

Very disappointed in the service here in a very difficult time. Traveled from out of state due to a family situation. Booked a room online went to check in was told that my email indeed showed the correct hotel location and the correct day. But it wasn't showing up in the system. I was told there was nothing she could do since I booked through a "third party site" . I booked through Choice Hotels. Choice Hotels owns Mainstay Hotels so she couldn't give me adequate answer how it was a third party site or if it was why they would not honor a valid reservation. I have never experienced being turned away from a hotel with a reservation in hand. It made an already terrible situation even worse. I sat in the parking lot crying and had to drive around in an area I was not familiar with to find another hotel when I had a reservation. Edit I looked just now, and my "nonexistent" reservation is now canceled. I theorized it showed up in the system later after she disregarded and dismissed me and told me I had no reservation. I had booked it it 15 minutes before I arrived(which I told her but she just said no its not in the system) it took awhile to show up in the system. She just canceled it. Instead calling me on the number listed and apologizing and acknowledging her mistake.

Clean and comfortable. Not super modern but well maintained. Modest but okay breakfast.Close to Qdoba, Panera, and Pick n Save. Generous parking. Nice pool. THE place to stay when visiting relatives at the Waterford senior apartments. I’ll be back!

Stayed for just one night, but it was an enjoyable, quiet stay. The hotel is clean, and the check-in was a breeze. The room was spacious and clean. Had an early morning flight, so I wasn't able to try the breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
