Motel 6 Parkersburg WV

This is Motel 6, so it’s basic, but this was one of the nicest ones in which I’ve ever stayed. The property is very clean - no litter, cigarette butts, etc. anywhere to be seen around the premises, there weren’t any shady people hanging out, the building itself appears to be freshly cleaned and painted, and management has made every effort to provide clean and comfortable accommodations. The rooms are, as mentioned, basic, but are very clean and comfortable. I am a single woman traveling alone, and I felt very safe. The front desk clerk was warm and welcoming, and the manager (perhaps owner?) also conveyed a sense of wanting to provide a pleasant and restful stay. I would definitely stay again and would recommend for the budget conscious and/or pet owners.

I should have gone with the negative reviews and avoided this place. Mistakes like this only need to be made once. The photos I uploaded will tell them story on how poor the quality of this place truly is. There are things you can’t see in photos though. When I arrived on a cold December day the heat was off in the room. This may not be unusual in budget motels where they’re trying to not pay to keep vacant rooms warm. The problem is when I turned the heater on I realized somebody must have played with the programming as the fan speed selector did not allow me to change speed. It remained set at low. On low speed it took three hours for the room temperature to approach acceptable. Read my comments on the photos I uploaded for everything else wrong or broken in my room. I was only here for one night so I stayed but I won’t ever be back to this dump. I have stayed at many Motel 6 or Super 8 properties across this country. I’m not comparing this place to some four star hotel and finding fault due to unreasonable expectations. I am viewing this place against what should be its peers and find it lacking in every possible way.

Mike the manager was wonderful. Went above and beyond! Rooms are clean and the hotel is quiet. I stayed while traveling for work. I am a travel nurse and was on a 2 month assignment. Stayed her for my assignment and would stay here again! They we wonderful!

Very peaceful family friendly place to stay. The rooms are very nice and I will surely be coming back often. My chosen place to stay, reasonable rates and close to places to eat and many other things to do not far. I would and will recommend this to anyone traveling this way, Mike the manager is the nicest person I've come across in quite awhile. Very personable and friendly, cares about his guests and their stay.
