Hampton Inn Beckley

Very clean, great breakfast and conveniently located near restaurants. Checkout at noon. Nice fitness facility and equipment as well as a pool. Great water pressure and temperature in the showers. If you need to stay in Beckley this is a great and affordable option with great amenities.

I was moving from Pittsburgh PA back to Lake Worth Florida and after a contentious closing on my new house, decided to get started on my trip south. obviously I was very stressed and wired. I had a sizable amount of cash in an envelope and tried to keep track of it. The parking lot was well lit, but still didn't trust leaving that amount of cash in my car and brought it into my room at the hotel. Somehow i dropped it in my room. This was the day before Christmas Eve. My next stop was in Brunswick GA and I looked for my cash and didn't see it where I believe I put it. My car was filled with boxes and travel bags and hoped I put the cash someplace else. I arrived at my new home Christmas day and unloaded everything and the envelope of cash was definitely missing. Having worked hospitality for 40+ years I know how busy the holidays are in lodging. I waited until the day after Christmas and call the Hampton Inn and left a VM with the GM, just asking to call me. She did a short while after and I explained what I believe happened and she said it's sitting in her safe, the housekeeper had turned it in. She asked if I would be traveling back through Beckley and I said no, I had just moved to Florida and wouldn't be coming through again for a while, could she mail it to me? She said no, not with that amount of $ but did offer to FedEx it to me. I received it a few days later. #1 a housekeeper turning in that amount of cash, particularly I'm assuming with family she (he) needs to buy holiday presents for was absolutely amazing, personally I believe the housekeeper should be nominated as the employee of the month. Oh, and by the way having worked hotels for years I have an eye for detail, my room and the lobby were both well appointed and very clean. Staff was very friendly and I hightly recommend staying at this Hampton. Traveling between my original home town of Pittsburgh and the little town I've moved back to I frequently have stayed at road side hotels and this was definitely one of the best. Great Location. Restaurants nearby. The hotel and room were clean. Staff was professional. The room itself was nice and spacious and clean. Nice hot shower. Breakfast was good. You have plenty of options. I enjoyed a nice hot waffle. If you are looking for a place to book, book a room here.

This Hampton Inn was costly at $163/night mid week. The beds were uncomfortable and the side sagged and you had to hold on or prop a pillow to keep from rolling off! HOT breakfast was barely luke warm and not much to it…kielbasa, faux omelet, sticky oatmeal, and waffles. Food stocked minimally…absent bagels, muffins etc. I’ve had better and more plentiful hot breakfasts at less expensive motels. And the breakfast space was freezing! Hairdryer sounded like an airplane taking off and died 30 sec later, not To be revived. All in all, will NOT be staying here again…underwhelming for what you get.

Please DO NOT stay here. I have never left a review before. This was a total crap trashy Hampton. Very dirty. The ceiling was chipping/falling. Mold. Rude staff. I forgot my cocktail dress and a suit in the room - turned around to get it the same day and the suit was returned but the dress wasn’t there. Housekeeping stole it. That’s the only logical answer. I will do what I can to report this, someone should own up. Just terrible.
