The reviews for this hotel were mixed but we had a great experience. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was sufficient. Location was close to the freeway so it was only 10-15 into the attractions deeper in Tacoma. Yes, the surrounding area was kind of the worst parts of suburban sprawl, but we never felt unsafe. There just wasnât much we wanted to do right by the hotel.

The location is walkable and it was a good choice for some much needed rest and relaxation. The facilities are very clean and the staff is very friendly attentive and helpful. The next time we are in the area this will be our go to place to stay. Breakfast was very good also

We stayed here before going to Mount Rainier. The room was great. The bed was great. The breakfast was great. The hotel was clean. The staff were great. But the area was definitely sketchy. I donât think the hotel has any control over that. I saw a guy digging through, the cigarette disposal can, then he sat on the ground and smoked the butts he found. We only slept here and ate breakfast and had no complaints about the property. Just the area is bad.

If you take the time to look around this area it is a very sketchy neighborhood. Twice I made a wrong turn and wound up(both times) in a tent city! Feel safe at your hotel because the outer doors are locked and require a room card for entry?? Not here because the exit located directly adjacent to the only elevator had been jacked open and homeless folks were entering and enjoying free breakfast. I was concerned about the large open sores on one manâs arms as he was handling utensils and other items in the food area. I informed two different front desk clerks about the door and both responded âIâll let maintenance knowâ. I thought about calling police but decided to check out instead.

In addition to the numerous safety concerns already outlined on the reviews here, there is nothing redeeming about this hotel. I had a three night staff planned and ended up checking out after two nights and going to another Hampton Inn. Day 1- none of the fitness center cardio equipment worked because there was a blown fuse. I asked the front desk and someone came to help me, but had no idea where the fuse box was. He told me this has happened in the past, but no one seemed to bother training staff on how to fix it. Day 2- no TV throughout the building. Called the front desk to report it. Waited a few hours and went to the front dest to be told that they couldn't get ahold of the manager (Tanya) so it wasn't being worked on. Day 3- came back from work and TV still not working. Called the front desk and waited 30 minutes without any luck. Went to the front desk and said they didn't know when it would be fixed. I wanted to watch the game that night so just checked out. Saw Tanya, the manager when I checked out, and she said it just needed to be reset. I'm unsure how this wasn't communicated earlier, but I had already packed up and was checking out. She didn't seem to care. I travel a lot for work and this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever encountered. Just stay away.
