We just checked out of woodSpring and the hotel was spotless and smelled great throughout our stay. I want to give a special thanks to Zack at the front desk—he was incredibly kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to assist us. His nails were fabulous too! Also, a big thank you to Grace for her kindness and helpfulness as well. Both Zack and Grace made our stay truly enjoyable with their exceptional service. Thank you both for the wonderful hospitality The only thing was missing is ice machine

No coffee maker or toaster. In 15 days I could get new linens and towels. I didn't receive any Choice points for my week stay even though I booked the room through them & had to listen to a sales pitch to buy more hotel stays. My trash I had to take to dumpster & provided my own trash bags. I did feel safe & the place was clean.

I carefully reviewed all responses on Trip Advisor before booking a room at this location for a long-stay. However, the positive reviews were extremely misleading. I booked from late April through December 31st. A wonderful young woman named Heather checked me in and told me to be sure to speak with the manager (Katrina) regarding my long-stay plans. My first impressions of Katrina were that she was insincere, cold, abrupt, rude, and short-tempered. So, I made up in my mind right away to simply pay on time and steer clear of her. However, with every single bill, Katrina was over billing me for my stay. The long-stay arrangements were that I would I be billed $99/night when I booked for 2- or 4-week stays. I opted for 4-weeks stays, initially, as that was easiest. However, there were issues with her over charging me, telling me to pay before my time there was up, charging me for EXTRA room service (when my room was not even cleaned on the regular bi-monthly schedule), I was billed both directly on my cc and on my account with the hotel for the internet, and the list of issues go on and on and on. I went to Katrina in good faith that when I showed her that I was being over charged that she would fix my bill. Instead, she doubled down and told me that she would not allow me to pay the discounted rate if I only paid for 2 weeks at a time. However, the only reason that I was paying for 2 weeks at a time was because it would be easier to track all of the over charges on my account. Her response? Raising my rate to $139/night! Things went downhill from there. She was consistently aggressive and rude with me. I ended up taking my cell phone with me every single time that I left my room, just in case I ran into her, I would already be recording. In a bizarre (and clearly vindictive move), she refused to allow me to pay to extend my stay with an attendant one night. Instead, she demanded that I meet with her personally to discuss an important matter the next morning from 9-11am. I went down and she couldn't be found - she was busy, she had stepped out, etc., etc, etc. It was clearly a power move on her part. Finally, I caught her going to the elevator and she nonchalantly told me that I didn't need to talk to her, that I could have spoken anyone at the desk. So, why couldn't I speak with the person at the desk the night before? Why didn't the person at the desk tell me that I could speak with her (instead of Katrina)? When the clerk from that morning looked at my notes, it relayed the message that Katrina wanted to speak with me directly and that I would need to wait for her to return. What was the emergency? I was told that, despite the fact that she had allowed me to stay in my room while room service was being done, that I would have to leave the room. I told the person that none of this made any sense. My room had not been cleaned in weeks, and I had reported that my room had not been tended to - and now Katrina was making me jump through all kinds of hoops, simply because I reported numerous times that my room had not been cleaned. There was also an issue with a random stranger following me into the secured area of the building. He pretended to be occupied with his phone while I accessed the secured residential area. Then, he waited until I got to the elevator, lunged forward and slipped in the door behind me. I confronted the man and told him that he was not allowed to do that - that he needed his own key. He told me that his wife "runs all of this," indicated that he had lived there for five years and that there was nothing for me to worry about. I was nervous as he got on the elevator with me and tried to put me in my place for confronting him. I went to my room and wrote Katrina and reported the incident. She, too, corrected me for confronting her husband. A week later, she informed me that I was being kicked out of the hotel. I have never been kicked out of anywhere for anything. I have never had any experience like this before. The interesting thing for me is that I contacted Choice Hotels on July 20th (I had been there from April) and I reported to them that Katrina was vindictive, that she had singled me out, and that she was likely going to try to evict me from the premises. They actually told me that there was nothing that they could do for me while I was there. They actually told me that when Katrina found out that I had filed a complaint, that she would likely evict me. This was told to me over a recorded line. Katrina is not fit for management. Choice Hotels is a name that I will be avoiding in the future. I have sense filed subsequent complaints with them and am awaiting a response from them. Lastly, I will mention that I have been extremely ill - hospitalized, and recovering from an extensive illness. All I wanted was a place to work while I healed and got myself back together. Katrina knew this, and went out of her way to make my stay at the hotel as uncomfortable as possible. In the end, she even began lying on me and saying things like the reason that my room was not cleaned on a regular basis was because I had sent the cleaning crew away. That is 100% untrue. I have been sick for an extended period of time, and one of the reasons that I chose an extended stay was because they guaranteed room service.

After an evening arrival to Seattle on a slightly delayed flight, I went to this hotel and arrived around 8:30 PM. I was told that, ā€œthe computer system is downā€, and I had to wait. I waited and waited, was not able to leave to grab dinner for fear of losing my place in line, and finally got checked in and a room key at midnight. There was a long line of people behind me, and there were others who gave up and went elsewhere. It was terrible. The next morning I went down to get some coffee. The cups were minuscule, so tiny that you had to get two of them and take them back to your room to fill a regular sized mug. There was no coffee maker in the room. I had requested beforehand that there be plates and utensils in the room so that I could make use of the kitchenette. My stay was for 11 nights, and I was visiting someone who is in declining health. There is a sign in the lobby stating that they charge $24.99 for this, so be aware. Even with this service, I had to purchase my own cutting knife from the local grocery store because Wood Springs does not provide that. The hotel did nothing to repair the relationship from the checkin fiasco other than give a verbal apology when I happened upon a staff member later on. I am 80 years old, and the experience was exhausting and taxing, so my daughter escalated the complaint to Choice hotels, the company that covers this franchise. They told me to contact them after my stay was over, which we did. They said they could give me points to a Choice hotel for the future, enough to cover 2-3 nights, and they also said that my 11 nights at this location WOULD NOT COUNT because it’s not on their list of points participants. Also, when I attempted to check out at the end of my stay, I was told ā€œthe system is down againā€ and they could not provide me with a receipt. I was supposed to get one emailed to me, and it has yet to arrive five days later. Needless to say, I don’t recommend this lodging portion or Choice Hotels in general.

I submitted a review when I first checked in back in October 2023 but wanted to follow-up after checking out last week, April 14th. Needless to say, I was there for an extended amount of time, and I would still recommend this location to anyone. The property was clean the entire time, everything was always in working order, and I always felt safe (being by myself that was quite important!). The staff were always kind to me, and I actually miss them now.
