This is a family run small road motel (not a hotel) within walking distance of the heart of the town as well as the ferry dock. For the price it was a good deal. The room was very clean and the views of the waterfront were fantastic. Some of the cons: the door card readers at old and need of replacement. Ours didnât work a majority of the time and we had to go to the office when we would come back for the day (I was told that if we leave the property and if we out the cards near a phone they tend to stop working). There is no ventilation in the bathroom (the window does open but it opens to the public walk way). No A/C so be aware if you stay in the summer. Itâs an older building so you hear people when they walk above you. They advise a free breakfast but upon arrival I was told itâs not offered at this time. For the price and if youâre just looking for a place to sleep this place meets your needs. We stayed here and did a day trip to Victoria B.C.

This hotel was more a great 3 day base as we toured Olympic National Park. The room was roomy, clean, and comfortable. Since it was off-season, some services were curtailed-- like breakfast-- but that is to be expected. The staff was responsive to our needs and helpful with restaurant selection.

3 trips up & down 3 flights of stairs (creepy carpeted stair walls) to our room with a non working key card. 4th trip the maintenance man accompanied us using his key to gain access. This property doesn't offer air conditioning which wouldn't be a problem (August 2024) if not for non-opening windows. Great view of the harbor - just no air during 80 degree days. The maintenance guy yet again tried to come to our rescue but he experienced the same problem - stuck hard windows. I walked out. I asked the front desk for a refund and found a much nicer property for %40 less just next door. I was told the refund had to be issued in the morning when the manger was on the property. I followed up the next morning and was told she would contact the owners (who were not on the property at the time) the only ones to authorize refunds. Its been over a month, no one from the property has responded. I've been charged $395.25 for a 3rd floor walkup (they have an key operated elevator that only works with functioning keys) without basic accommodations such as an opening window or air.

Port Angeles is a small place that isn't exactly overflowing with hotels. It functions mostly as a transit location for people taking the Black Ball ferry to and from Victoria BC. This hotel is up the hill about three blocks from the waterfront / ferry area. The top-floor harbour-view/water-view rooms are the better ones to go for as you do get a nice view of the bustling waterfront. It's an easy walk down to the Wharf building where there are a few eateries and an old-school video arcade. The Rail diner is right there too and has excellent food choices. If it's not raining, a walk along to the marina past the wind turbines is a great way to get some fresh air. The hotel check-in was quick, even though we arrived just when the ferry arrived so we hit a little glut of people checking in all at once. The room was spacious and clean and reasonably quiet. The bathroom was a bit dated but was clean and everything worked. Given the style of hotel, there was very little room-to-room noise - we couldn't hear the people in the room next to us. The bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was mostly cold items - cereals, fruits, juices, yoghurt but there was bread, a toaster and a waffle-maker. Solid offering and plenty for most people.

This place is a rip off. The decor is super dated, the carpet has stains and the breakfast is so so. Itâs double the price of nicer places like the Quality Inn or the Red Lion. Donât stay here. The service was was not great, I heard a door slamming at night. The water pressure and towels were nice.
