Hotel Leavenworth

Took a quick side trip to Leavenworth after a Seattle work trip. I had the basic queen. Reasonably priced and very clean. Great location to be able to walk anywhere (which was a requirement since I took the train). Only downside is that you do need to be able to lug your stuff up to the second floor. But I managed.

We arrived at 5:50pm, dropped off at the front door. But our room was in the basement around back. No one was at the desk to assist us and the directions given were not helpful to jet lagged people. Room 17 is essentially a big dorm room. Not a real fireplace. Not a real jacuzzi. We stupidly paid an exorbitant rate for 3 night at Christmas. I’ve made some travel mistakes, certainly, but this was the most costly and yukky.

As required, we made a two day reservation. We left early after one night....I think that says it all....will add, it is a poster child for the need for ADA requirements.....but so it so all of Leavenworth. Leavenworth as a whole, was very disappointing.

Great location in the heart of town. The rooms were comfortable, well appointed, and you could see the attention to detail. Side note: there was really good water pressure in the shower! Parking was easy and convenient. I appreciated that the window opened, it was nice to get the fresh air and hear the sounds of the streets.

The Deluxe Double Queen room was very large. Everything was clean and comfortable. Wonderful decor. Large fluffy towels in the bathroom. The view was of Front street and the mountains. Easy walking to shops and restaurants, Munchen Haus was very delicious. Our only problem was the stairs. Since there is no elevator and all the rooms are on the second floor, you have to walk up a flight of stairs that were almost too much for my wife’s knees. We called them the “ killer stairs!”
