Holiday Inn Washington Dulles International Airport an IHG Hotel

I needed a place to sleep after my flight got in at midnight. I called the hotel as soon as I landed and a recording told me the shuttle picks up from curb 2B at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. I didn’t have an option to talk to a person. After waiting in the snow for half an hour, I called again and dialed zero. I couldn’t understand what the manager was saying, but caught that I needed to get the Hampton Inn shuttle from 2G. Finally reached the hotel at 1 am. The lock on my door didn’t seem to work. I had to make four trips to the front desk before they let me in with the master key. I just wanted easy and reliable. I should’ve gone with one of the other dozen hotels, whose shuttles passed me at curb 2B.

Anytime we fly out of Dulles on an early flight, we do a Stay & Park package at this Holiday Inn. Stay one night, and for a little more, you get up to eight nights of parking in their lot. The beds are comfortable, the rooms clean, the bathrooms generous and well-lit. Nothing fancy, but that’s hardly the point. The shuttle van to the airport leaves every half hour. Reliable and friendly.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Very clean and well kept. The complimentary breakfast buffet was incredible. There was something on there for everyone. Bagels, cereal, eggs, sausage, bacon, ect. Simply wonderful! Great experience!

With the exception of what I will describe this was a very nice hotel from Holiday Inn. It's seems new, the staff is mostly friendly and the rooms comfortable. The breakfast is good and the restaurant in the hotel is not bad either though I don't think it is owned by Holiday Inn. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. My issue is with the driver of the van on Sunday moring November 17. He drove way too fast and in a dangerous manner and I felt like I had to hold on for dear life. He takes every corner like a F1 driver. There was an older man in the van with me and he litterally slid uncontrollably to one side and hit the door with his shoulder because the driver took a turn so fast. The driver jams on the brakes frequently and beeps at cars in front of him. I didn't need to break a speed record to get to the airport. I just wanted to get there in one piece and without my bag bouncing around in back. Someone needs to tell him to slow down.

Our airline booked this hotel for us after cancelling our flights. We finally arrived at the hotel at 1am. The airline told us they booked us for the 3 days waiting for our flight but the man at the hotel desk said we were only booked for one night. He had a very rude attitude, like we were getting something for nothing! He gave us a room at the furthest point away from the front desk on the second floor. The next morning I asked at the desk what the charge was for the next 2 days, and what the charge would be for a late check out of one hour. I was told it would be a full days rate with tax! Charging a full day for one hour is not good. They offer no free breakfast as the other hotels do (we travelled for 23 days and this was the only hotel that only offered coffee. Their Breakfast buffet was $14.95 and was “horrible” according to one of the travellers at the coffee counter. We found another hotel for the 2nd & 3rd nights at 2/3 the price. I can not recommend this hotel.
