Best Western Plus Newport News Inn & Suites

No hot water during my entire 3 night stay. I reported this daily and was told they would reset the water heater. If they did, it didn't work. We had to take quick cold or cool showers. Not happy!! Also, housekeeping needs to check under the beds when cleaning the rooms. I dropped something that rolled under the bed. When I looked to retrieve it, I discovered empty liquor bottles and trash under the bed. NASTY!! That was on the last night of our stay. To be honest, I won't be staying there again.

While the accommodations were roomy and the bed was comfortable, there were noticeable items that need to be addressed. For example, the base of the lamp on the office desk was filthy with a black, oily residue that may be indicative of mold. I took a piece of tissue and wiped it down and it was not pleasing to see. The wood on the edge of the bathroom door was damaged - as if someone tried to pry the door open - and if you're not careful you could get caught with a splinter. The remote control only worked for the TV (volume/power) but not for the satellite box that controlled the channels. I had to get up and walk over to the dresser to change the TV channels - very inconveniencing to say the least.

This was dirty the sofa was dirty we didn’t have extra linens for the sofa bed so I had to ask front desk. The first blanket they gave us was dirty. The remote was had broken buttons and the tv wasn’t working. Worst place ever. The room felt damp and the gym is super small and had a crack in the ceiling.

Very disappointing. Coming from a Best Western member with over 40k points. A Best Western Plus anywhere I've been has been a guaranteed lock for cleanliness, quality, and modem features. This dump needs to be sold and the sign color changed to blue, then this place will fall into the crapshoot of privately owned hotels. Room, and now my clothes reek of cigarette smoke and yes, I'm in a non smoking room. Black mold on the window frames. Damp feeling in the room. Beat up walls. Worn out bed. Should be a Best Western Minus.

This place is completely unsatisfactory, and unsanitary. And likely unsafe for you and your family. I would avoid at all costs unless you are desperate. When you enter the room it immediately smelled musty, of water damage. Immediately noticed a condom wrapper on the floor, and then my wife went to hang clothes and found mold in the closet. That was enough for me to pack up and ask for a refund. While talking to her manager the front desk associate made her manager aware of another customer having issues with fleas. So um yeah…
