La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Richmond Midlothian

Terrible hotel, beds, pillows, employees. Old, outdated but the staff is the worst. They run the hotel however they like, disrespectful, lazy, ghetto. Will never stay here again. Great location though, too bad their employees aren't any good.

Do not stay at this hotel. Although the staff was very friendly, the hotel room was unacceptable. Hair on the towels, ripped carpet, soiled and ripped chair, stained/dented lamp shades, crumbling drywall repairs. I checked out after one night. I have stayed at many LaQuinta properties and have not experienced anything like this before.

I did not receive a friendly welcome. Was given a room & started to unpack. Opened 2nd drawer & a roach ran across the inside of the drawer. I freaked out but ran to get my phone to get a photo. The roach had gone. I looked to the side of the drawers & saw another roach run when I put my phone flashlight on. I just grabbed all my clothes, thankfully hadn’t unpacked too much & checked out. If there is 1 or 2 roaches, then I know there are hundreds of baby roaches! I did check out & leave & they are still charging me for 3 nights I was meant to stay, refusing to give my any money back. The hotel is disgusting & the management are disgusting.

A truly horrible experience at this hotel. The front desk clerk was no where to be seen when we checked in around 7pm. When he finally turned up he was not friendly or accommodating. We are traveling with two small chihuahua mix dogs and asked for a first floor room. He curtly replied all dogs are on the 5th floor. Well, we got there and it was a scene out of the Shining. Dirty ripped up carpets, rusted electrical sockets and worse, when we first flushed the toilet it flooded out of the toilet, on the bathroom floor and kept going into the hallway!! we were horrified. We tried calling the front desk to no avail and had to go downstairs to find him. He neither apologized or offered any compensation for having to walk over toilet water to get out of our room, but gave us an equally disgusting room down the hall. Photos are posted on Hotels.com reviews. A total nightmare. AND we were charged extra for pets. Fecal matter from their toilet was free.

Pros: location near where our family lives; very clean; updated bedroom decor; great breakfast; good price. Cons: night shift woman was very rude, condescending and bossy upon our check in. Seemed to hate her job. Pillows were the most terrible: hard, rocky and small. Overall, a good place to stay if you are checking in during daylight and bring your own pillows.
