Quality Inn Lynchburg

I’d like to begin by highlighting the excellent staff at this hotel. From the breakfast team to the front desk and housekeeping, everyone was incredibly helpful and courteous. The room rates were also very reasonable, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The lobby felt outdated and uninviting, and there were no helpful suggestions or resources provided for things to do around town. Despite being just minutes from Liberty University, the hotel offered no discounts or special accommodations for visiting families—an opportunity clearly missed. Pet accommodations were also lacking. There was very limited space for dogs to relieve themselves, and during much of our stay, we had to take our dog to the neighboring hotel for that purpose. Additionally, there was only one spot to access pet waste bags. As for the room itself, it was noticeably outdated—from the TV to the bathroom and overall decor. More concerning than the age of the furnishings was the lack of cleanliness. Dust and grime were visible along the baseboards, in the bathtub, and around the sink. The television was so old it didn’t support basic connections for streaming from a computer or other device. Unfortunately, due to these issues, we will not be returning to this hotel.

If I could give this hotel a minus score, I would !!! I couldn’t get out there fast enough this morning. Upon checking in I had to wait as a desk was unmanned. Thank God we were only there for one night on our way through to another location. ImI had done my research and looked at Tripadvisor and saw it had a 4 out of 5 rating and looked at photos. It’s an older hotel but that shouldn’t matter as long as everything is clean and I’m working order. This hotel is absolutely filthy !! You don’t have to look far to see evidence of dirt on surfaces, floors, mirrors, bedding and the list goes on. Not just in the room but in common areas as well. My husband walked out on the non carpeted hard floors in his bare feet for less than an hour and the soles of his feet were almost black. The nightstand next to my bed where I wanted to place a medical device was filthy so I wiped it with some disinfectant hand wipes I had which came away black. There was a ugly yellow stain on the quilt. I’d hate to think what that was. I had read on a previous review on Tripadvisor that a person was complaining about the TV. I wrongly presumed that would’ve been fixed. Our TV did not work well at all. My husband called reception, a fellow came to look at it, jiggled some wise and said he would report it to his manager. I expect more from quality hotels as I’ve stayed in one or two that have been really good. At US $171 this one was almost double the price of one I’d stayed in a few days earlier.

Staff were very helpful. Room was average and comfortable, but floor needed better cleaning. Bathroom was good with separate room for bath and toiler. Television was very poor, some stations not working, others stopped and then went on. Beds were comfortable.

The bed was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly. As far as the facility itself:The bathroom was full of black mold and smelled strongly of mildew. The carpeting in the common areas was obviously very dirty. The exercise room was more of a storage room, not available for exercise. We were there for college graduation weekend and the cost was over inflated. Over $400 for one night.

We only stay at this hotel when visiting my daughter's college. The location is great, the street is quiet, the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is good, and the staff is friendly. We left an item behind in the room. The hotel mailed it back to us. We highly recommend it.
