I want to share my disappointing experience at the Candlewood Suites on March 12th, 2025. Upon arrival I was never greeted or treated like a Diamond Member. I was concerned about the road noise and asked to be placed on the backside of the hotel. I was assured that there would be no problem where she placed us, and the noise would be only during rush hour. I had requested about changing the room, but it was not received very well and left it as is. It was like a front row seat at the Daytona 500 race all night. The room was totally unacceptable to IHG standards, there was mold in the bathtub, the light on the desk was not operating, the handle on the refrigerator was missing and the worst was the absolutely dirty bath towel, it appeared someone washed their car with it. Please zoom in on the picture and think of drying yourself off. You can see by the pictures. I was also given a handicap room, not requested, which for booking in advance seemed unnecessary. I travel up and down the eastern coast numerous times a year and will never again stop at this Candlewood. We had many other options but wanted to try this one out. My biggest disappointment was that I wasted 14K IHG points to book this room.

My husband and daughter were traveling and needed a room with 2 beds. I booked this room and paid extra to be sure they had this type room. We bought the med through Priceline and had confirmation numbers. When they arrived they were told sorry we don’t have any rooms. They showed the confirmation and they shrugged and said “well we don’t have it”. After much back and forth they offered a room WITH NO LOCK. So my husband said no. Finally they came up with a room with one bed. Out of desperation they took it but this was just wrong. What about the price difference from what I paid and the room they got? Too bad no refund at all. They DO NOT care about their customers at all.

Do not stay at this hotel. The rooms are worn, old, have broken furniture, and are filthy. Our room had a broken and permanently stained chair, countertops and dishes were dirty. There was a visible trash on the floor near the chair as well as by the curtains. The carpeting was dirty and needed to be vacuumed. There were leftover coffee pods in the coffee maker that were moldy. The dishwasher had dish detergent caked up in it. The bathroom floor was dirty and sticky as was the kitchen floor. We had two rooms. The second room had a broken refrigerator that went open smelled moldy and gross. The floors there were also dirty.

Avoid this location by all means they are a scam me and my family booked a stay from Sept 26 2024- Oct 4 2024 on Priceline and chose to prepay the amount of 701 dollars for a double bedded room soon arrival we checked in and clearly stated that we had booked online with Priceline for a double bed room they asked for my card at checkin and we went to the room to find the room was a single bed room there was a total of 4 of us and a single bed was not gonna work so immediately we went back to the front desk we told the lady the issue that we had and she said that they did not have a double bed room available so we asked if we could cancel she told us that she couldn’t do refunds and we had to wait for the manager the next day ok fine we left the hotel (we did not stay any nights at all) the next day we called and we spoke to the manager she told us that she would refund the 621.20 but we had to contact Priceline for the original charge of 701 ok cool we called Priceline and told them the issue they canceled the reservation and sent us the refund for the 701 they also told us that the manager said she forgot to do the refund for the 621.20 and was doing it now while they were on the phone ok great right nope a week later the 701 was refunded but the 621.20 was not we called the hotel and the manager was not in so we left a message for her to return our call waited a day no call was returned we called again the next day and she answered telling us she again forgot to process the refund and that she was getting to it right now ok awesome right nope week later still no refund so we called Priceline and they contacted the manager she again said she forgot and the whole process was repeated fast forward past numerous calls and numerous voicemails and messages we finally got ahold of the manager only this time she said she processed the refund and it should have been released she the. Said she may have sent it to the wrong card I’m no genius but if you process a refund from a debit card doesn’t that money go back to the same debit card that was used to purchase so I call bs anywho she then says that we need to contact the bank to have the funds released we did just that only they have no record of a refund ever being processed for Candlewood suites in Fredericksburg Va meaning each time she told us she processed the refund was a lie this was on the 6th of September it is now the 18th of October and we still have not received a refund we call everyday but the manager is either not in the office or if she is and we get transferred to her office it is sent to voice mail she even had the nerve to tell us she doesn’t understand why we are so upset it is 621 dollars that your holding hostage that was not authorized to be charged to my account and it is going on a month that we have been dealing with this there are people that would have done a lot worse than us I think we have been more than patient we have called the corporate office no help all they do is send a message to the hotel for the manager to return the call to us but of course she never returns calls I have seen reviews and this is obviously a ongoing issue being many other customers are having the same complaint so we are now taking legal action and this company has 30 days to comply or there will be a law suit and if anybody else has had this issue please contact me at +1 757-529-2299 and I will get you in contact with my lawyer times are too hard for these companies to play with our money like this and they are playing with the right one and to the manager if your the only one that can handle situations like this you should spend more time in the office doing idk your job maybe !!! Or have a backup that can process the refunds if you can’t handle remembering to 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

After reading reviews that were all over the place we had my son and daughter in law go visit before we committed. The manager m, Miraza, was AMAZING! He showed them the rooms, spoke with them etc. We were there 3 days. It was CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! All the staff were amazing. Tv had issues or I’d have done 5 stars. We weren’t there enough to be concerned but they were eager to accommodate!
