The Westin Arlington

We had a rough start to our day with AirB&B and had to find a place to stay quickly. The staff (especially Jewel) welcomed us and helped us settle in quickly! We could not have asked for a better experience!! This was our 30th anniversary trip and they made it great!!!

AVOID. My family was charged a $500 smoking fee, despite the fact that none of us smoke. OK, fine, things happen. I called on 5 different occasions to figure this out; each time I was told they would look into the system, tell me when the alarm went off, and we could compare notes as to whether we were even in the room when it happened. The manager hinted that I am not the only person fighting this charge. I eventually gave up and am currently disputing the charge through my credit card company. Moral of story: add $500 to your expected budget, and consider whether you could stay in nicer places, with more transparent pricing, with that money.

Our one night stay at this Westin was great overall. Metro is within walking distance so it was easy to get in and out of DC. The neighborhood was relatively quiet for Arlington, which was an unexpected plus! There were several great restaurants also within walking distance. The hotel was clean and staff friendly. We did have a surprise lunch bill added to our account after we had checked out, but the staff corrected the mistake.

We arrived a bit late at 10 pm and the second we approached the desk, Tyrie made us feel like such welcomed guests. He was so kind and went above and beyond to get us settled in. The room was perfect- so spacious and clean. And the restaurant/bar was beautiful. Having the self-park garage was so convenient! The service was attentive and friendly and we can’t wait to stay here again.

I was wonderfully served by the wait staff in the restaurant! Lydia was wonderful and had my food ready with no wait time!! The food was awseome, and my steak was made absolulty perfectly!! This is one of my favorite places to dine! Highly recommend Lydia getting a raise!
