Travelodge by Wyndham Roanoke

we had booked a room at this hotel for April 10 - April 13 using our Wyndham Rewards points. We identified under the special request that our grandson would be checking in instead of us. We have used this method repeatedly over the years for reservations we make for family without any problems. They would not let him check in since the main reservation was under our name. He had the confirmation information we had received. They cancelled the reservation at 4 AM on April 11 and refuse to give us any points back. We felt we should of got at least 1 night of points back. Our grandson said the desk person was very rude and when we tried to call about the situation, the staff was very rude to us on the phone.

HORRIBLE! Drive on. After being on the road for many hours we just wanted a decent place to rest for the night. This one was disgusting including black mold and rancid smells. Should have known from the moment of check in. Front desk attendant couldn't answer any questions I asked initially. Changed $20 for our service dog.There was trash outside the room when we got there. Once we entered our non smoking room we were nearly knocked over by the stench of smoke. Went to use the restroom and the door wouldn't close due to damage from being broken. Looked down to see black mold along the wall to the floor. Asked for a refund before heading out on the road again (no way we were going to stay there!) and was told to call Wyndham because they couldn't (wouldn't) do anything about it. Have traveled a lot and rarely do a review. But.... this was the most terrible hotel I have ever seen.

Very spartan but clean. Old scratched furniture but bed comfortable. No coffee in room or lobby and no tissues or hair dryer. Cheap towels. Do not recommend. Not a good Windom hotel and I wasted points on it. Price is low and pool is closed. No breakfast and none in walking distance.

Somehow Trip Advisor needs to change overall review rating. Of last 10 reviews 8 were 1 star, 2 were 2 stars. mine will be another one. thats an 1.18 average for last 11 reviews. Hole in celing, stains in shower, hole in shower curtain, wall stripping coming off. this place needs to be condemned.

The property should be closed until they determine if it can be rehabilitated. No breakfast, television did not work (and the replacement they brought did not work.) Some of the old Days Inn signs have not yet been taken down. They sent us to another affiliated motel for a very unsatisfactory breakfast.
