Sonesta ES Suites San Antonio Northwest Medical Center

The rooms were very clean and our king bed was comfy. The furniture could use some updating however. The breakfast was very good, as were the ladies taking care of the food. However, it would have been nice if it was available until 9:00 on weekdays. We were on vacation and looked forward to not having to get up early. The front desk staff were friendly. All in all it was a good stay.

Like cockroaches in your coffee machine ? ✅ Want to stay at a hotel with trash left out in the hallways by not one but many people all night long so roaches can feast? ✅ Like disgusting old kitchens that even though (likely) were cleaned by staff before you got there but still look disgusting? ✅ Like super cheap greasy breakfast food?✅ Appreciate old brown nasty furniture that is not clean and you don’t want to touch?✅ Do you like hotel card swipe keys from the 80’s that work one time but not the next, forcing you to keep getting your card key remagnitized? ✅ Do you like roaches? Because you are going to sleep with them. This place is vile. Stay at your own health risk to you and your family

Avoid at all costs. We parked right in front of the hotel and woke up to our truck broken into and tail lights stolen. This happened with a “security” guard and an extra $7 a night for parking. Our truck has a very loud alarm as well. We were given a refund for the parking and a free nights stay for compensation. The surveillance footage was conveniently not working at the time and the front desk didn’t hear a thing.

Made reservations for this dump, picked up the keys to find a disgusting, musty, urine penetrated nasty room. It was the most disgusting room we had EVER seen. I went to the front desk to request a refund after deciding we’d rather sleep in the car. The rude, unprofessional staff refused to accommodate. They even threatened to call the police. I actually think someone is taking money off the top to charge that kind of money for a dump. We ended up going next door to the clean nice Westin and it was much cheaper. It was a horrendous experience. This Sonesta must be as a family owned place. Even the lobby was nasty, but thought we give it the benefit of the doubt. I wouldn’t even stay if it were free. No reputable hotel would have that level of customer service.

We were charged for parking on a surface parking lot, which we found out when we checked out. They also charged us for the room even though we used reward points. It was corrected in the end but stressful for several days. Everyone we talked to at front desk was very unfriendly. Breakfast was good and worker friendly there.
