First off, before I get to the grit I want to say that our room was nice and it was clean. Now, the rest of the story.... Initially the hotel floor plan is confusing. You must choose the correct elevator to get to one set of rooms or the other. We found this out after standing in line at the wrong elevator. You also have to enter the correct outside doors otherwise you have to walk around the building to get to the correct elevator. Not a huge deal-breaker but it took a bit of getting used to it. We were in a group and some of the group was on the other side. So even though they were on the same floor we had to go down, walk around to the other elevators and go back up. Cleaning staff was ever-present at awkward times. When we arrived at 8pm we had to navigate around multiple cleaning carts in the narrow hallways. And when we were moving around the next morning at 7am the cleaning team & carts were in line at the elevators. The final day at 830am leave out they were in the hallways as well. Maybe they're understaffed in the cleaning dept. lending to them having to clean at extended times. We've been to hotels all over the US & this one stands out since the cleaning staff is typically after checkout /before check in times (meaning late morning to early afternoon, instead of early AM & late PM hours.) Again, not a deal-breaker but it compounded the awkward experience. Lastly, the big one for me was simply that they do not have a courtesy coffee / tea bar. They have small room coffee makers but most hotels have a lobby set. They only offer Starbucks, which is already over-priced but this hotel only has hyper over-priced Starbucks. They charged $5.40 for a cup of hot water & single teabag. Big thumbs down.

First impression was pretty negative…..an abandoned “church” with debris piled up around it out front where I observed vagrants breaking in. The left side of the hotel overlooks a wooden fence and the back side of a strip center. The right side of the building appeared to be pretty active in that there was a fair amount of people smoking and drinking out in the parking lot. Police were observed at the hotel each night . One night two were parked at the front door and another was out back. If my room was on the first floor I’d have been concerned for my safety. As it was, I was uncomfortable. The landscaping was sorely neglected and there was trash strewn about. The lone positive of the stay was that the room appeared recently refreshed and was clean and well appointed. Unfortunately, the neighborhood and poor condition of the grounds really dragged down my rating. I was there by myself on business for three nights as my regular hotel was sold out and decided to tough it out. Were I with my wife or family, I probably wouldn’t have even checked in.

After a truly horrific experience at a competitor hotel several miles down the road, we wound up at this Marriott. I was greeted at the front desk by Whitney, who was so sweet and so kind. I told her briefly about our experience at the other hotel and she apologized FOR them, even though her hotel is not in any way affiliated with that other hotel. Additionally, she told me that Marriott was very focused on customer service and experience and if I needed ANYTHING, or anything wasn't satisfactory, to let her know and she would correct it. We got up to our room. It was spotless, gorgeous, had a balcony, and smelled SO good. The backstory to this is that my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a couple months ago. It has been incredibly difficult and we have canceled plans several times due to emergencies. We even rescheduled this trip twice and almost wound up not going so when we arrived at this hotel and were greeted with immediate kindness and courtesy, it was amazing. I went down shortly after checking in to get some drinks from the bar. They were made by Whitney and she asked questions to get to know me while she made our delicious, perfectly crafted drinks. When it was (sadly) time to check out, the staff was courteous, kind, efficient and asked if there was anything they could have done to improved our stay. Not one thing, there was nothing. This time I booked through hotels.com, next time I'll book directly through the hotel and this will be our go-to hotel from now on. People like Whitney and the rest of the staff are what makes all the difference.

The facilities here are nice. Nice pool and a decent hotel. There’s also a small Starbucks in the lobby, which definitely makes up for the fact that they do not offer any type of free, continental or grab and go breakfast. The rooms in which I stayed were recently remodeled and well done. Other than a couple of minor glitches, they’ve done a very nice job with the facilities themselves. What really makes the difference here are the people! They have hired superbly here and to a person, everyone is very focused on customer service. That is why I extended my stay here. Jaime, Martin, Wilson, Ryan, Larry and especially Hilda, have all made my stay here very pleasant. As long as they keep the outstanding quality of their current staff, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Not bad. The hotel is obviously a little bit dated and the neighborhood is due for an update. But we enjoyed our stay here. We were delighted to find a Torchys close by, as well as a handful of other places to eat. The room was pretty clean. We wanted to try the pool but didn't get around to it. I noticed there was a sign saying you had to reserve the pool, most likely as a COVID precaution. Staff was friendly and helpful.
