The room and especially the bathroom was very dirty. The towels were very thin and we were only given 2 sets. There was no hand soap and when we asked we were told that they had run out. There were two of us in the room, yet only one sad complimentary water bottle. The only positive was that the bartender was very friendly and made a great cocktail.

Came to the San Antonio area for a wedding and chose this hotel due to its location near the airport and major highways to get both to downtown SA and to hill country where the wedding was located. I'm a Bonvoy member but haven't previously stayed at an Aloft, so not sure if features of this location are consistent with others. Nonetheless, we checked in past midnight to a room on the fourth floor noting that we were in a designated handicapped room (we neither requested this nor or are physically disabled). First thing we noticed was the difficulty of opening the very heavy steel fire door, which in no way would have been possible for a person with a physical disability. Aside from that fact, just the aesthetic of heavy steel fire doors in a hotel gave off Kafkaesque vibes. Upon entering and wishing to immediately take our wedding clothing out to hang, we noticed there was no closet in the room and a single plastic hanger hung on a short horizontal bar high up above the room safe ... but oddly with another horizontal bar just beneath it, the distance between the two making it impossible to hang even shirt-length clothing. We called the front desk asking for more hangers which the person stated they had to search for...they arrived at our room with a hodgepodge of wire and plastic hangers presumably left by guests? Due to there being no other areas to hang anything, we had to hang our clothing on the shower curtain rail. Also missing from the room was a dresser in which to put clothing and a luggage rack on which to open a suitcase. Instead, there was a very small table and seating area that resembled what you'd find in a college dorm, so we had to dump both of our suitcase belongings on a combination that and on top of the mini fridge and on the safe. The bathroom was similarly bizarre. It was huge but with a bathtub at one end of a long rectangle and the toilet on the opposite side and nothing in between on which to put a towel, any of your belongings, etc. Assuming this is because it was a handicapped room, but it the room was so large and empty, the addition of a table or hooks on the walls wouldn't have affected the presence of a wheelchair. Also with regard to the bathroom, the handheld shower fixture leaked and the water pressure was a little better than spitting due to corrosion around the sprayer. And, again, if someone in a wheelchair needed to get in, it had a seat that could pull down from the wall but how the hell would they be able to actually get in over the tub or even reach the shower nozzle way up above? Lastly, there was a fabric shower curtain but no liner, so when the water was turned on, the curtain became a sponge. There were other bizarre things about the room, but would describe those more aesthetic than functionality, so those can be overlooked. On the upside, the bed was comfortable. That was really all we could say that was good about the room. Just for our experience with our room, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone staying longer than a day or so. The desk staff seemed pleasant (though couldn't find a toothbrush when requested) and the common areas looked okay, but we didn't use them, so can't really comment on either. For the money, I would look elsewhere if I were to return to the area.

First time I've ever stayed in an Aloft and count me impressed. Brand new construction. Stylish place, comfortable bed and living spaces, albeit tiny. Work desk situation leaves much to be desired but everything else is solid. Alcohol bar and pay breakfast looked good but I didn't partake. There's an excellent taco joint next door and some other eateries within a mile or two. In my opinion pretty affordable for this type of hotel.

I am a Travel Advisor, have booked several clients into this location and the feedback has always been good. So, when my husband and I went to San Antonio for friends Wedding Anniversary, we decided to check out Aloft. The hotel and our room were clean. the bed was very comfortable and no carpet, tile. Diego efficiently checked us in and checkout was just as easy. I asked for extra towels and they were delivered within 10 minutes of my request. The hotel appeared pretty full during our stay, free parking was not a problem and the location was centrally located to restaurants, shopping and our event. The room was spacious enough, no extra frills, furniture, closets or Bellman. A purchased fast food style breakfast can be ordered at the front desk and there is a Bar for evening hours. This is an Ultra Modern Hotel and if you're looking for the Traditional Hotel, carpet, furniture for clothing, restaurants and extras, this hotel is not for you. The price was fine and we would stay here again.
