Fairfield Inn & Suites Houston Intercontinental Airport

I booked for one reason - this is one of the most affordable Marriott properties that offers a free airport shuttle to/from IAH. If you're in the market for that specifically, a stay here will do. (In all honesty, I was gonna book at another hotel until I realized they didn't offer this) The process of requesting a shuttle was relatively simple. You do have to call the hotel and speak to the front desk, and then wait at the shuttle pickup area outside the baggage claim by your terminal. The hotel has their own distinct vans (though the property as a whole also contains a Springhill Suites on the other side), which made it easier to identify when it arrived. This was key, considering how many different hotel shuttles zipped by and how confusing it was to know for sure if they had arrived or not. I won't be picky about the shuttle taking 35 minutes to arrive after me calling, but I would recommend that you don't stand outside the entire time. The van is fine comfort wise - tour group special. The driver (was the same person to/from) was nice. When you're ready to head back, you have to fill out what's essentially an interest form the night before at the front desk for the driver to know when to be ready and where to drop you off - took a minute or two. The rest of the hotel was nothing to write home about. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was continental and organized, but a pretty basic spread. There's a gym I didn't use. That's about it. I booked using Marriott points because it was a surprisingly good value, but even cash rates were pretty low. There's nothing wrong with this hotel, it's just very roadside basic vibes. For an overnight airport layover (as I had), it does the job. For anything else? I'd treat myself to something less ehh.

Thank for the nice stay. Casandra at the check is was great. The shuttle to the Airport was right on time. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Small place to buy soda and snacks was nice as well as a nice lobby to enjoy. I needed a late check out and this was not a problem as a gold member.

Great experience. Great breakfast. Clean. Easy shuttle from airport. Great pool. Have nothing bad to say about the stay. Would stay there again tomorrow: we stayed in 3 hotels during our stay in Houston and this was our favorite. Highly recommend.

Cassandra at the front desk made this Hotel a super five, everything else could be a zero. For a busy Saturday evening Management had her working alone frustrated every other guest who needed even to ask a question. She held her composure the guest suffered waiting in line especially those who had a long day from traveling. Managers do your job send your guest pre arrival information so you can know when you’ll need to schedule properly on a holiday weekend.

I booked this hotel for 1 night because I wanted to be close to the airport, but it came with a few drawbacks that in my opinion, were just not worth the stay at this hotel. The room that we stayed in was a room with 2 queen beds. 1. No lamp on the table between 2 queen beds: All hotels that I have stayed have had a lamp with charging ports on a table between beds. This did not and the reception told me that a lamp between 2 beds is not standard in any of its rooms. THERE WAS a lamp on the desk. 2. No folding stand for suitcases: We had 3 suitcases, and it was a hassle to place them on the bed to pack/unpack. On asking staff, we were told that management decided to take away this amenity. 3. Terrible "breakfast": Choice of 3 cereals. 4. Terrible area to stay in overall. 5. No Exhaust in the bathroom so good luck if you have multiple family members doing their business- you better carry sprays or odor absorbing drops that can be used in the toilet.
