Hyatt Place Memphis Primacy Park

I travel regularly for work and pleasure and have to say this is one of the worst hotels I’ve come across in decades of travel. I used to be an Ambassador at Marriott but have been staying at Hyatt’s more regularly over the past couple of years. For the most part Hyatt has stood out as a quality brand but this hotel is making me completely rethink my decision to move on from Marriott. I booked a King bed and upon checking in they could guarantee a clean room with a King bed so I said no problem I’ll take two beds as long as it’s clean. I had been on the road all day, was tired, and ready to get some sleep. Unfortunately when I got to the room and started to settle in the conditions were unacceptable. I noticed a used toothbrush on the vanity, stains on the bed pillows, stains on the sheets, holes in the couch, candy or something else on the carpet, who knows what on the TV. The elevator and hallways were a complete mess which should have been the first sign but I held out hope the room would be clean and I could just go to sleep. The conditions were so bad I decided to leave as it was just uncomfortable at that point and I was completely grossed out. The guy at the front desk said he would refund my but of course I haven’t heard anything. I’ve filed a case with Hyatt and would recommend this hotel be removed from their network. I’m leaving for London in a few days and highly reconsidering staying at another Hyatt based on this experience. I don’t complain about much but if this review helps another avoid a terrible hotel then it’s time well spent so they aren’t second around looking for accommodations late at night.

The room needs to be updated. The carpet was worn and not clean. There was a half eaten cough drop left on the picture frame in the bathroom. The body wash ran out on the last day. Pillows were small and flimsy. Room opposite elevator was very loud.

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast options were nice. The shower head was loose and the drain cover was broken. There were stains on the curtains and I found myself concerned because for the first time I was charged an unexpected incidentals fee. I felt compelled to take a video to make sure none of the previously existing conditions were attributed to my stay. Compared to the other Hyatt's this was the least aesthetically pleasing.

The accommodations were fine. Staff fine. The tv wasn’t working properly but not a big deal. The problem is they expect you to pay extra for parking. This hotel is in Memphis, not NYC or Chicago, parking is not this limited and the lot had about 12 cars in it with tons of open spaces.

King with pull out room. Two adults and two kids. Rude front desk and no effort to find a blanket for pull out couch. Kids slept uncomfortable with just sheets no blankets. Front desk said everything is in the wash. Front desk just sat and did no looking.
