Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Vernon College Area an IHG Hotel

My room was pretty great - it was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I wasted some time trying to cast from my phone to the TV, which seemed to have the capability, but alas, I'm just an electrical engineer and couldn't make it work. Oh well - I don't hold it against the hotel at all. The reason I'm not maxing out the 5-star scale is the lackluster breakfast. Overcooked scrambled eggs and biscuits, watery gravy, completely out of bacon - yes, these are first-world problems, but I've stayed at dozens of Holiday Inn Expresses that didn't have these issues. Breakfast aside, it was a good stay, and I would stay here again.

Wonderful in every way, but special thanks to Alonna at the front desk. Friendly, welcoming & called to ask if upgrading to king suite was OK? Absolutely, yay loyalty membership !!! She also went above & beyond on my behalf when I needed some important permits printed out, which I very much appreciated after struggling to do it myself in the business center. Room was spacious & spotless, bathroom sparkling clean w/generous supply of towels. Bed was super comfortable with lovely linens. Easily accessible outlets for charging electronics, free wifi w/strong signal. Standard continental was well tended, tables kept clean etc & included fresh fruit & REAL oatmeal rather than sugary instant, which sure helps when you're trying to eat healthy on the road. In fact it's one of the reasons I'll happily pay more for HIE. Highly recommend & will def be my 1st choice in Vernon :-)

Passing through Vernon, we overnighted at this IHG. It is located on the west end of town, across the highway from the Walmart. Checking in was no problem. Room was clean and comfortable; sleep quality was good. Breakfast the next morning the usual selection of both hot and cold fare.

I was in Vernon, Texas on business. Not many choices for motels. This property was clean with a good location. My room was very nice with excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. That’s important to me. As well as proper working heater and AC which worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable and the window shades kept the room very dark at night. The TV remote was easy to use while selecting different tv channels. The morning breakfast wasn’t much to brag on. No yogurt, no individual milk cartons. Three choices of bulk cereal. Some biscuits and gravy. As well as powdered scrambled eggs and some sausage links. Lighting for working at the dest area could have been better. Rates were somewhat high compared to other Holiday Inn Express properties, but there again, not many choices in Vernon Texas.

Gem in a small town. We were driving to New Mexico and had no place to stay. All nearby hotels were booked but Keith at the front desk made a point to call us back and tell us someone had cancelled at the last minute and he would hold a room. The room was clean and there was indoor pool and sauna that you could tell were all very well maintained. And the gym was functional and all equipment was in good order. And in the morning they had a really nice breakfast including fresh cinnamon roles and oatmeal. I would highly recommend this place if you are ever needing a place to stay in Vernon Texas!
