Western Skies Motel

Comfortable beds, excellent sleep, temperature perfect, cozy room, clean and tidy restroom, centraly located, and in and out with ease. We would most definitely stay again at Western Skies when traveling thru Clarendon, and would most definitely recommend to others.

Pleasant and personable receptionist, not a speck of dust anywhere! Yes, it's an older motel, yes the rooms are small. Looking at other reviews, I see that the road noise could have been a problem, but I travel with a small fan that I set up on the night stand. Problem solved! Comfortable bed, high quality cotton sheets, and a great night's sleep. I mean, what else do you need??! We're not talking about The Ritz here! Only thing I would change is a having a door mat. Plus, make sure to bring your own toiletries, Dollar General is right next door, police dept across the street. As an older woman traveling alone, I never felt unsafe. 10/10 would stay here again!

Having stayed here decades ago. It had a cute quaint sixties kinda cowboys motif. Now it’s insight paneling is painted bright blue and bright yellow and the shower pan is falling apart. Towels were tattered beyond belief. The laminated floor was clean and bed comfy enough however we were three units from the Highway and every sixty seconds as a semi drove by the bed would shake like a 7.5 California earthquake. Unfortunately I don’t own any sedatives to allow me to sleep through such a ruckus. If you are forced to stay here for some good forsaken reason demand a unit far from the Highway. Unless you’re from California you’ll feel at home.

I read the other reviews for the Western Skies Motel. I don't know if it has changed ownership or been remodeled, but my experience was quite good. The room was clean and the AC excellent--it was 100+ outside. In fact, it was set at 69 degrees so I turned it up. There is a Pizza Hut and another fast food place in walking distance--Not much else in Clarendon. There is a $15 pet charge. It's a good place for an overnight.

my husband booked a room for a short night's stay on his way through Clarendon--booked through Priceline and thankfully did not have to pay up front. Long story short, he got to the motel and it was not open!!! Fortunately he got a room at the Best Western.
