Avoid at all cost. You notice it immediately when you walk in - this place has seen many decades without maintenance and care. It is dirty, worn down and neglected anywhere you look. The rooms are average, but to put a top-tier member in a room exposed to the noise of a dozen commercial AC units is unacceptable. The restaurant is a LONG way below your average hotel restaurant - the so called buffet was lacking fruit (fresh or otherwise) and pastries - the menu devoid of any omelettes or scrambles. Until the weekday came, and the buffet was no longer offered either. I had the audacity to request a table for 6, but since only half the restaurant was opened (the other half had the lights turned off), they tried to squeeze our party at a 4-top. When I refused, the waiter became irate and tossed the menus on a table and walked off. The lack of oversight in the so-called restaurant is remarkable. The "executive lounge" is the complete contrary. Completely worn out furniture - the pool table is a sad joke - and a fridge with soda/water is the only offering. No drinks, no food. Nothing. The front desk staff is also very busy looking stuff up in the computers and can;t be othered to tend to their guests in front of them - I believe she was the manager even. I inquired about the condition to another waitress and was told "the renovation is coming and it should be nice" - well - no hardware fixes will repair the complete lack of care by management, which is as evident as the rotten condition of the whole hotel.

As a history buff I can appreciate the historic nature of this hotel. The location has lots of amenities nearby within walking distance. My room had a great view of the city skyline. The hotel staff at check-in and check out were pleasant. Overall a great experience.

Mixed feelings about this place. Good location. Most of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The bed was unexpectedly comfortable given our first impression of the smallish room with view of nothing. Bath cramped, but nice "warm oak" amenities. Breakfast buffet for the group we were with was quite poor. Even worse, in the conference room where it was served there was a small non-obvious step between where the food was and where the tables were. Luckily my husband noticed and warned me. Others were not so fortunate I hear.

We stayed here for 2 nights and. I have a mixed review. The hotel is a great location. And I love historic buildings. The valet staff were helpful and so friendly. I wish I remembered their names because they definitely deserve to be mentioned. Every employee at the valet station was wonderful. Also the staff in the restaurant and bar were notably friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations for the area and were really nice to chat with. Also, we interacted with two members of housekeeping and both ladies were very nice. We declined room cleaning because our stay was short, and she made sure we had extra towels and coffee service. She was very thoughtful and even gave us an extra sugar/creamer packets. Unfortunately not everyone in the hotel was warm and friendly. The front desk staff were rude and had no personality. We arrived really late (almost midnight). My husband and I were arriving in separate cars and I checked us in using the Bonvoy app because I was afraid of them giving our room away due to the late arrival. I arrived at the hotel first and went to the desk to check in. The reservation was in my husband’s name and they refused to allow me to have a room key. They also alluded to the idea that my husband may already be in the room and not want me there or want me to know he was there because it was a keyless check in. I confirmed with them that “yes” it was an online check-in and I was the one who had done that! The three desk employees just stood there and looked at me saying they couldn’t help me. I had to call my husband and have him verify that he was not already in the hotel room and that I was allowed to be there!!! I’ve checked in to 100’s of Marriott hotels and this has never happened. It was insane and insulting that they even would suggest to a guest their husband was an adulterer. The main hotel room was okay. But the bathroom could use attention. The shower bar was wobbly and missing screws, the tile was chipped and grout was falling out of the cracks. It really looked like maintenance issues.
