Studio 6 San Antonio TX Six Flags

Okay, I'll start by saying that all of the workers I came into contact with, from the day and night managers to the maintenance man, were kind and understanding. The layout of our room was great for our family of 5 and the sound-proofing was decent enough to block out the road noise from I-10, which was about 100 yards from our door. Also, the laundry facility was well-maintained. Now, where they fail is cleanliness and pest control. Within 5 minutes of setting our 1-year-old down to play he was BLACK on his hands and feet. I'm not saying a little dirty, he was BLACK. On the first night, I bought a mop and bucket and mopped the floor THREE times and THEN got down on my hands and knees and wiped up the last of the dirt with paper towels. After that, it was finally sanitary for him to crawl around. Also, the coffee pot, machine, and a few of the dishes had clearly not been cleaned at all. I had to sanitize and wash everything myself. Basically, they need a new maid, because their current one is not doing the job they are being paid for. Next, the bug issue: Roaches were EVERYWHERE, in the kitchen cabinets, in the sofa, lurking on the toilet seat when you want to use it (5 at a time, at one point). After waking up the second morning to find somewhere between 10 and 15 dead roaches in a coffee cup my husband had left out the night before and several bites on my person (I'm pretty sure they were roach bites, as I could find no evidence of bed bugs after a THOROUGH inspection), I couldn't take it anymore. We checked out and transferred to a MUCH cleaner hotel. Basically, this motel needs to invest in a pest control service in a big way. If they can get the maid issue and the pest issue under control, they would be a good hotel.

I had some issues about my stay at Studio 6. I was dissatisfied because my entry door lock did no lock properly and I reported the incident but nothing was done an it. I felt fearful of my stay in the room.

I have been staying here while my husband is here on business. The people that stay here are mostly workers, a few families. It sucks you have to pay for wifi, and the connection sucks. I get bumped off every couple of minutes. At least the location is great, and there aren't any bedbugs, at least in the 2 different rooms my family have stayed in, and that is the number one important thing for me, out of everything else, pretty much

I'm not sure if those other reviews are just old, or what - but my first week here at the Studio 6 near Six Flags in San Antonio has been nothing short of GREAT ! I'm a card-carrying Clean Freak/Cootiephobe, and if I'd seen the negative reviews for this place before, I never would've even considered staying here. Thank goodness I didn't ! Not only is this place clean as a proverbial whistle, but everything else about it is perfect. The queen bed is (like in 'Goldilocks') just right - not too firm and not too soft. The bedspread and blanket are new-looking and the box springs are a good 8" off the Pergo floors, with no dust ruffles for spiders to climb up (I HATE dust ruffles !). Everything - including, of course, the bathroom and kitchen area - had a well-scrubbed look. The place was as clean as a hospital room, no exaggeration. There's even a full-sized coffee pot, instead of one of those sad little one-cup coffee makers. A real fridge w/freezer compartment, instead of a bar fridge. Plenty of thick, new-looking towels, lots of hot water (haven't run out mid-shower yet), a 700W microwave and ceramic element (fast-heating) two burner range (w/exhaust fan). The grounds have big, shady live oaks all over the place. The laundromat has always been clean when I used it and has a card-entry-only door and CC monitoring, so I didn't have to guard my stuff or worry about theft. The site is very well-lit at night and (did I mention) QUIET! Right off I-10 and DeZavala, yet I never heard the highway traffic while I was trying to sleep. Clean, affordable, staffed by helpful, friendly people, quiet... I'm considering changing the address on my driver's license ! Two big thumbs WAY up ! -Dave Arny / Bandera, TX
