Residence Inn by Marriott San Antonio Downtown Market Square

Marriott - you are better than this. Our room was so run down. The couch has little to no form and the carpet is stained. These rooms need a major update. What a shameful place for a Titanium Plus member. Nick and Byron were extremely kind, but the hotel itself needs some MAJOR updates.

The staff was friendly so that helped to make up for some of the issues but I would not stay here again. The bed was the worst I’ve slept on in years. The shuttle seemed inconsistent at best but I could’ve looked past that if the bed was decent. It was noisy and caved in the middle.

Came to San Antonio for a long eclipse weekend. Booked 3 rooms on Hotwire. We were given rooms at inn at Market Square. Poor disappointed. We got 3 rooms, and all rooms needed basic room maintenance such as painting, caulking, and baseboards are weathered, possibly moldy by the bathroom. The refrigerator freezer does not work! The microwave does not work. No working fire alarm. Alarm had NO BATTERIES! Light fixture had no cover! Non -smoking rooms smell like smoke. Some outets do not have covers. The exhaust fan in the bathroom does not work. At its best, this hotel ("INN") is a 2 star hotel, nowhere near a 3-star hotel.

If you like to be treated with respect then don’t bother staying here. I was charged for the full night even though I called 4 days in advance and cancelled within their timeline. I spoke to customer service and was told well I don’t see it canceled so too bad. There is nothing we can do. Almost $300!! Never again will I stay at a Marriott or recommended to anyone!! Especially this one!!

Staff are great. The breakfast is included and while not haute cuisine is filling. Room as expected and very clean no issues. Do not end up with a room in the Annex close to the Fairfield Inn disturbances all night from smokers congregating and playing truck music.
