Motel 6 San Antonio TX Downtown Alamo Dome

Nice clean hotel but they do charge a hefty pet deposit.. I had 2 small dogs & was charged a $100 deposit.. There is no mention of it on their website or posted in the hotel, was only told when I checked in.. Also noticed a sign saying there’s a $25 deposit for using a debit/credit card.. Just be ready for a lot of deposits, especially when staying with pets..

My stay here was wonderful. The night clerk who checked me in last night was polite & professional. I got to my room and everything was neat, clean, and organized. Had an awesome night's sleep. The only annoyance was I couldn't find the big towels. Glad I brought one from home.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The manager Jim should not be a manager at all and needs to take some classes in customer service and hospitality. He was rude and arrogant. When checking in he wasnt personal or welcoming at all. I looked into the normal lobby from the night registration entry and it looks like a frat house; there is stuff EVERYWHERE. I really wish I would have gone with my gut and turned around and left based on my check in experience alone; but wait it gets even better. The only thing this "manager" asked me was cash or card? During the whole check in and treated me as if I were a child and he was my teacher about wearing masks around the property. They have a zero tolerance policy which I have no problem with. But he was threatening and belittling. After that unpleasant experience we started to move into our room. There are no baggage carts and there are a lot of sketchy people that sit outside and in the hallways. Around 11 pm is when I started to hear all the screaming and yelling. All night long kids were running down the hallways, people were yelling, AND IT NEVER STOPPED. At 5 am we heard children screaming and crying and called the front desk worried there was some kind of danger to those children. The lady at the front desk just said she handled it. Not apologetic or anything. After 2 hours of sleep all night, I went out early to let my dogs out to go potty and do their thing. This Jim guy saw me and I said hello. He immediately wanted to know my room number so I gave it to him. He stated I didnt tell him about my dogs when he asked. I informed him he never asked me about pets and I assumed (my bad) that they were free since Motel 6's are known for being pet friendly. He basically told me I was a liar and gave me a stearn look and walked away. After speaking to him I went outside and found out my card didnt work to get back in. He turned my cards off so I couldnt get in the building all because I had 2 dogs he NEVER asked me about. Overall, do not stay here. It was very unpleasant, stinks, and all the staff is rude and know nothing about hospitality. The walls are thin so you can hear everything and the AC units do not work. You can tell the owner does not give a crap and will continue to make money off junkies or party animals I guess. If you're a family or a decent human being, stay far away.

My family and I were staying just for the night and everything was great. There was a slight smoke smell, but nothing too bad. The room looked new, beds were comfortable and shower was ok. It wasn’t too far from downtown and that was a plus! I didn’t see too much of the staff except for front desk clerk. He was nice and checked me in quickly. I would stay again.

What a dump of a place! Smells bad, like musty, mouldy odour. We had a nonsmoking room but the whole hotel stunk of cigarette smoke. No breakfast supplied. Staff at reception gave me the impression I was intruding on their privacy. Not at all friendly. Garish colored walls were offputting. We just needed a bed for the night and that was all we got....no toiletries supplied either. Give it a miss....no matter how tired you are, push on to the next place!
