Motel 6 Mount Pleasant TX

Stayed at this hotel as it was the cheapest for the night. After a wait for the online booking to come thru, was given a room on first floor. Room was typical motel 6 from about 10 years ago. However they hadn't updated it, as the TV you can tell was a wall mounted which was changed for another kind and still had glue reminants from the previous wall mounted tv) . Coming in at 8pm, looking for some TV before going to bed, the remote didn't work, and front desk had no extra batteries or remotes. So was limited to watching on my laptop. Left at 7am and night guy who was trying his best to help with TV at 8pm was fast asleep ,so didn't worry about a receipt.

The place is "sadly in need of attention" or the prices need to be drastically reduced. Upon checking in, we asked about a pool. Were told it had been filled in, so no they didn't have one. Then, we asked about breakfast. There is an I Hop next door and coffee will be in the lobby in the morning. (It wasn't when we left at 7:30) Checking out the next morning, we couldn't get the attention of anyone to come to the desk area at 7:30 am so just left. The next night we stayed in a LaQuinta with a pool, good breakfast and well maintained room for the same price. (Yes, we have the rewards program with Wyndham so get a deal.)

Very nice setting and place to be. Parking is excellent right in front of rooms and easy to bring luggage in and out. Great staff and very clean place to stay at!!! We traveled from Washington State to Texas here to move closer to our family here. Best motel 6 we have stayed in on our journey here. Nice grass areas to walk dogs in and enjoy the views out of the windows. Close to service stations and restaurants to eat at. Beds are comfortable and air conditioning works great as well!!!

Small mom & pop motel close to interstate. Very clean and inexpensive. No coffee in room or in lobby but price reflects no frills. I found room quiet clean and bed very comfortable. My spouse heard a train in the middle of the night as there is a track a few blocks away. There is a Scooters drive up coffee shop across the street and a block away is a HiVee grocery store with a large deli selection. Next door is an Asian Buffet that we didn’t try. Highly recommend this motel for the price, kind and friendly owners and to support locally owned business. In our travels we find hidden fees in online bookings that actually exceed the final price of booking direct. All price’s should be total, not price plus fees and taxes.

• Uncovering bugs in the first room we were assigned, we were told this was normal. • At the transfer, we received a refrigerator that did not work. We called the desk about twice for a new one, be size we bought a week's worth of groceries. No help thus forced to use our cooler with ice.. • Toilet was cracked at its foot, leaking around a puddle. Decent that they left a towel around it before we entered but was unsanitary and dangerous to go by. If you can fix these, then it will be more pleasant.
