Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Mesquite an IHG Hotel

The room was not clean. We had to wipe out hair in the shower. The refrigerator was not cold, it was turned all the way down. And it had sticky stuff on the shelf, obviously was not cleaned at all. There was guck on the counter where the TV was. The maintenance in the hotel is horrible. Having one of the stairwells closed is a serious safety hazard. I can't believe that Hilton would even put their name on this particular hotel. I worked on the management team in a hotel for 30 years and the cleanliness and maintenance issues you have would never have been acceptable. When we asked the desk for an extra blanket, she gave me a bedspread. And we were told you didn't have DND signs, unbelievable. We took a sticky note & wrote do not disturb and taped it to the door knob. We usually love Hampton Inn but this was a very disappointing 2 night stay and the cost did not match the quality. We will not be staying at this hotel again and will recommend to friends and family not to stay.

This hotel is undergoing a lot of construction. There is currently no restaurant, no room service, no laundry room, and no indoor pool. These are many of the things I thought I was going to get when I booked the room. Very disappointing. It is also very loud - you can hear everything in the hallways, in the rooms around you, and the traffic on the interstate.

This was a one night stop. Hotel staff were friendly, you could see that the hotel was going through some renovations but it looked like the contractor did not do a spot check on work done. You could see holes in the walls from drilling but not patched which was a shame as the wall looked newly painted. Fire sprinklers still had the masking tape covering them. Shower faucet still had the blue protective film on it as well. Breakfast had a good selection. The room just did not feel complete.

This hotel is being renovated. We got a renovated king suit on the main floor. We could not get any hot water to take a shower in the morning. The bar sink and the bathroom sink taps also had no hot water. I left the water running for 4 min. The room door did not have the extra security latch. The telephone in the room did not work. Although the desk tried to find another room to shower it was taking her a long time. We were in a hurry to get on the road. I asked for a partial refund like $40. It’s been 2 days and the manager has not offered any compensation.

I could not believe the condition of my room. I found it hard to believe there were rooms worse than ours but after reading some of the reviews I guess that was normal. Our room had plastic over all of the windows the carpet was old and filthy. The floor in the bathroom felt like it was caving in. The tile had huge cracks in it and wobbled. We were not told when we made the reservations that it was under construction. Very disappointed it looked worse than some of the other places there and was priced way higher. There was no compensation for this nightmare and they still charged us 75$ for my small dog. I am sure holiday inn express has quality control for their brand. This was totally unsatisfactory and to make matters worse, customer service was rude and not at all understanding. Please do better.
