Homewood Suites by Hilton Laredo at Mall del Norte

I stayed multiple weeks at this particular property on business. 2 out 3 rooms I stayed in had no hot water. Warm water yes, hot water….no. On my first visit I refused a room due to an overwhelming stench of what smelled like sewage. On more than a few occasions I would have to stand at the front desk for over 10-15 minutes waiting for the desk staff to emerge from the back. On my last night I found multiple live cockroaches in the room. Thankfully, it was my last evening! Had I read the previous reviews about other guests seeing them, I would have never booked at this location. It’s obvious after my experience and reading the experiences of other guests, management doesn’t take pest control or cleanliness serious. Spend the extra $20-$30 and stay next door at Embassy Suites.

I killed two ants and a roach in my bathroom sink. I opened my dishwasher and another roach ran away before I could kill it. No paper towels in the kitchen, no dishwashing liquid in the kitchen, no ice machine in the freezer and the ice machine on the floor didn't work. That really didn't matter anyway since there was no ice bucket in the room. Certainly not what I would expect from a Hilton property, and I won't stay there again and will recommend to all my colleagues to stay as far away from there as possible. Plenty of other hotels in the area.

The checkout clerk was unfriendly. There were ants in the room around the sink and stove top area. The refrigerator was dirty upon arrival. Not what I expected as a Hilton Diamond Member for the price paid. Someone needs to really reevaluate the staff.

The hotel was under renovations which I was not made aware of during the booking process. When I stay in a hotel I expect comfort and I was far from it. Walking down hallways with wallpaper hanging off walls and fixtures not attached to the walls and smells of chemicals. The noise from the workers in the halls in the morning and my children and I having to squeeze by the contractors in halls working was not what I had in mind when staying in a Hilton hotel. I would equate this to staying in a hotel in a 3rd world country. At breakfast we had to find a table with chairs that weren’t damaged to sit at. This isn’t quality service, do better! I could have stayed across town at a Tru hotel like I have in the past but I decided at this location since it was closer to who I was in town visiting. I will never again stay at this location. I am highly disappointed in the quality of service and my stay.

1 star review is deserved for this hotel. Travel a lot on business and would never stay at this hotel again. All furnishings are old and not clean. Shower is miserable- low flow shower head with no pressure. Had several bugs in that I noticed(which means there is more I didn't see). Breakfast- all yogurt 10 days out of date & lousy coffee. Bottom line- just a place you don't feel comfortable staying.
