TripAdvisor rating was high so I checked in. But following issues: 1. Unclean Bathtub 2. Broken walls 3. Broken Bathroom tiles that can eventually break and hurt someone's feet 4. No complimentary water nor coffee in the Lounge (with a note saying such amenities not ready) Then why is the business open since hotel should be a hospitality business? It would have been better if the hotel opened for business ONLY after all the amenities are offered, clean, and safe for the customers. I hope this low rating review will help.to properly inform future customers.

Myself and three other couples planned to stay at Sonesta Essential Houston Westchase hotel for the weekend. Shortly after check-in, myself and literally every other member of our party encountered an INFESTATION of cockroaches in their rooms. A member of our party actually caught one and physically took it to the front desk. Having personally worked in hotels for over 20 years, I was completely appalled by the unsanitary conditions and total lack of customer service offered by this hotel and its staff. As you can imagine, myself and every other member of our party immediately checked out and requested refunds of our charges. We were told by the front desk agent (Fitz) that not one single member of management was on property (which is completely unheard of in the hospitality industry) and that no one at the front desk was authorized to administer a refund. I was given the business card of a manager, Mr. Williams, who would be able to assist me. The phone number listed for Mr. Williams has rang busy for 3 days now. No option for voicemail. An email has been sent with no no response. Upon calling the hotel directly, I was told that no manager was present on site on a daily basis and that they are not allowed to release any names of anyone in Leadership positions at the hotel. As a member of hotel management myself, this is totally uncommon and unacceptable. This has been hands down the absolute worse experience I have ever had. Do not stay at this hotel. I can't believe they are still open. If given the choice, I would rather sleep in my car. We weren't even able to take our bags into the house upon arrival back home, because we were so afraid of carrying some of this hotel's roaches back with us. Avoid this place at all costs! Book the hotel across the street. We did and it was a 100% improvement.

Will be a nice place. Currently undergoing a remodel as it was a different hotel chain. If you are handicapped or have a hard time walking stairs please check with the hotel to ensure that there elevators are working as it is a three story hotel and they were not working when I stayed.

I booked two rooms here for my family vacation at the end of April. The elevators were down for the entire week so we had to haul our luggage ourselves to the third floor. One of the rooms I had was infested with cockroaches. The other room had a broken carbon monoxide detector hanging from the ceiling over our bed. The titles in the bathroom were broken. The carpet smelled like urine. The ice machine on the second floor wasn't operating either (one of our rooms was on the second floor). The "breakfast included" was literally only a waffle machine with a very old batter. This was the saddest hotel I've ever stayed at in my life, there are 1-star hotels and motels that provide much better service and quality. The worst part is the hotel management did not refund either of the $100 security deposit in both of the rooms that I booked. Totally fraudulent management, they withheld my deposit and declined my refund with no explanations to what the incidental charges were for. My family only used the hotel for sleep at night during our vacation.

The elevator was not working the entire time we stayed. I had to stair to bring luggage up & down. The room is old, dusty & dirty. The toilet has stains inside the bowl. The breakfast has only a few choices.
