Residence Inn by Marriott Galveston Island

We had so much fun! This hotel is so nice! We got the 2-queen suite. It accommodated 4 of us very comfortably. Used the couch during the day and made it into a bed at night with ease. The staff was helpful in bringing extra pillows, blankets, and towels. The bathroom was clean, and well-stocked. Vanity/dressing area made things easy for 4 people. Beds were very comfortable, and the A/C was easy to adjust and was blowing cold for us on an unusually warm February. The room was really spacious and provided a full sized refrig/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, etc. It was like being home away from home. The breakfast offerings were so nice - very delicious, hot, and even waffles made-to-order. ALOT of food options! (yogurt, fruit, juices, milks, teas, coffees, sausage, bacon, eggs, bagels, toast, cereals) We really enjoyed the lobby area; watching TV, sitting the fireplace, drinking the tea and coffee available day and night. The firepit outside was nice, and we had fun in the hot tub. There is even a tiny pantry type "store" in the lobby to purchase food and essentials that may have been forgotten upon traveling. Staff was always very friendly and accommodating. The hallways and elevators were always clean and quiet. This was our first stay at this particular location, and we will definitely stay again! I was welcomed as a Bonvoy member. The location is really great, right in between everything we wanted to do. Great views!!!! Exterior side doors lock and are only accessible with room.

Expectations exceeded. Well appointed property, nicely located, with staff that care you have an amazing experience. Breakfast area large, well maintained, well stocked with a variety of options. Rooms clean and comfortable. Hot tub HOT.

Great service and excellent rooms. Staff was friendly and everything was pristine. Their breakfast was great. This is apparently a brand new facility. One thing I would note is the rooms are a bit large…but not going to complain about that. If I am ever in town again, I will definitely return.

We stayed at the Galveston Residence Inn for one night pre-cruise in December 2024. The hotel seems new and things are in good shape. Our room was large and comfortable. However, you can hear people walking/running around in the room above you. Breakfast was typical of a Residence in with a couple of hot options and then cereal and bread options. The hotel is just one block off the beach, so in 5 minutes or less you can be walking on the beach or along the seawall. There are also a few restaurants nearby within walking distance. It was about an $8 Uber to the cruise port in the morning.
