I stayed for a conference in January. The staff was very friendly throughout the entire stay and accommodating. The rooms were perfectly clean as well as the rest of the hotel. The breakfast in the morning was just what I needed as well for my busy day.

It is not often that a Crowne Plaza is the cheapest hotel alternative in an area, but Downtown Dallas is an exception. I paid 115 EUR/night, cheaper than anywhere else at the time of booking. But the hotel is definitely not up to Crowne Plaza standards. Basically you get what you pay for, so come prepared. I arrived at the hotel at 6:30 pm to hear that my room "was not ready". It took some fifteen minutes for the receptionist to find a room for me. I was probably upgraded to a better room, as there was a small balcony. The rooms have been renovated a few years ago and my room was generally in good condition although the carpet was dirty and the toilet had one too many long black hairs left there by someone... The room came with comfortable beds with power outlets by the bed to charge your devices. One of the beds had reading lights on the headboard, the other one only had holes for them, go figure... There was a desk and chair and also a separate armchair. There was one 0.5 L water bottle on arrival, sometimes replenished, sometimes not. No safe, which was surprising. There was a fridge and a microwave, as well as effective A/C. Wifi was very fast, easy to use and reliable. Noise insulation was non-existent and street noise abundant, even up on the 15th floor. The room was not cleaned on Sunday, in fact I did not even see any carts in the hallway all day so maybe cleaners here don't work on Sundays? The bathroom came with your usual US style low bathtub that is not really suitable for taking a bath. The wall-mounted shower had good water pressure, but a handheld shower would be nice. There were no amenities at all, only empty bottle-holders on the walls. On request, reception have me a plastic bag with four small bars of soap, three minibottles of bath gel and three minibottles of conditioner. No shampoo, no body lotion. Brekafast was served in the ground floor restaurant from 6:30 to 11.30 daily at a cost of 18.35 USD / person, all taxes included. The buffet was average and unmemorable but nevertheless gave you a good start of the day. Here's a list of all the items offered: coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs from powder, sausage, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, toast, cream cheese, butter, jam, cereals, milk. The restaurant was also open for dinner in the evenings from 5 to 10, but I did not try it. There are several eateries nearby. I had two packages sent to the hotel, and they arrived early and were stored and given to me on arrival. As for the elevators, which several reviewers have commented on: during my stay, waiting times were never long even if one of the four elevators was out of service. The three elevators in use worked reliably, no problems there. Checking out, an extension to 1 pm was gladly given although reception did not relay this info to the cleaners who attempted to enter the room twice after noon. The hotel has a central location in Downtown Dallas, two minutes on foot from West End station with Dart service to DFW on the Orange Line. The station area and Rosa Parks Plaza have lots of dubious characters, but they don't bother people and are nothing to worry about really. While the hotel is not up to Crowne Plaza standards, with the right expectations (and the right price!) it is still a solid alternative and I will most likely return. Just don't think of this as a four-star hotel, more like a 3.5-star perhaps.

Very disappointed. Arrived at the hotel from the airport, couldn’t check in for a few hours but had to pay a 10 dollar fee to store two suitcases. This should be a free service to guests who have already paid to stay. No toiletries provided, not even soap. No daily housekeeping, we had housekeeping once in 3 days. We raised this with the housekeeper and were told that our room was not on her list. Air conditioner not working, reported and fixed but we had a very hot uncomfortable first night where we didn’t sleep very well. Tried to use the guest laundry services, lost 3 dollars in the laundry machines, the laundry room is dirty and thick cobwebs at the window. There were soiled towels and sheets left in the laundry room, we did report this to the staff member at the front desk but the items were still there the next day! The bedroom itself looks nice but the bathroom is very outdated and I had to clean the bath before using it as there were hairs around the plug hole. One small bottle of water provided on the first day for 3 guests and not replaced. On the last morning, we woke to find that a vent above the sink area was continually dripping water all over the sink and toiletries. We have paid for a service that we did not receive.

I do large group bookings with Douglas year round and our groups always love it here! The group sales team is so easy to work with. Rates are amazing and the location is perfect. Our groups also love doing private events at Thrive Nightclub and have so much fun!

Do not stay here. First, the elevators are slow and non functioning at times, room plumbing barely works, ( when reported, nothing done) hallway smells of filth. Party central, for 3 days straight loud drunk parties in hallway, when employee staff notified ( nothing done) called front desk to complain ( she hung up on me). So I addressed in person and front desk was unconcerned and alleged I cussed her out. My exact words were: ( are you going to get off your ass and do something) This interaction was after numerous phone calls over past several nights. As I am downstairs in lobby, there was probably 30 people partying directly in front of staff( 230am). I locate security and to HIS credit, he went to my floor. However, I already dealt with issue on floor personally. I strongly caution you for your sense of security and comfort at this property. P.S. I love good party, just not at others expense.
