La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dalhart

While I can't understand the prices in this town for lodging, we decided to stay here due to a lower cost and pet friendly accommodations. Pretty average as chain hotels go, but better than expected. There's a very nice, grassy relief area to the back of the hotel. The employees are helpful and friendly. We stayed 2x - there and back - and found the rooms clean and spacious, and the beds comfortable. We were glad we had our own pillows, though. The coffee was awful - no flavor at all, and the breakfast was average. Not sure why, possibly location - being central, but we checked around and the prices 30+ miles down the road were half the cost. We may consider alternate routes in future to avoid Dalhart's inflated lodging costs.

This is a very clean and friendly place. Shower was up to date, roomy and clean!Overall the room was also roomy and clean. The desk clerk gave us a list of eating places and made a recommendation and was spot on! Breakfast area clean and well serviced. Can’t say enough about cleanliness here, which is our first priority.

The rooms were exceptionally clean and quite. The employees at the front desk were so nice and helpful. I would 100% recommend staying here.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. Didn’t have to use all three pillows. The toilet seat was a nice height and not a knee breaker

The place was infested with flies! Nasty! No offer of discount or assistance eradicating. We spent hours killing flies in our room. The front desk said it was due to having a lot of cattle in the area….really! Unacceptable! Don’t recommend.
