I want to let the whole World Wide Web know what a wonderful person the manager, Tiffany, at this hotel is. I am a nurse who came out of retirement to work for TX Health & Human Services at half the pay for what nurses are paid these days because I wanted to advocate for the vulnerable population I serve and the state is so understaffed as a result of the COVID pandemic. I investigate abuse & neglect in group homes that house the Adult IDD population (Downâs Syndrome, profound Autism, etc.) The job requires me to travel across the state M-F and stay in hotels. I made a reservation at this hotel 2 weeks in advance per state policy through Hotel Engine and came down with COVID symptoms which were subsequently confirmed by testing the night before I traveled. I was running a fever and frankly forgot all about canceling my reservation at this hotel. Room/tax is always direct billed to the state, but the state Credit Card had not been added yet to my profile in Hotel Engine since I was still a new employee. I saw the charges on my AMX bill a few days later from this Marriott. And this is where Tiffanyâs outstanding empathy and customer service comes in. I called the hotel and left a message for Tiffany on her voice mail- crying throughout the message â because I could ill afford the charges and because I was very sick, asking for her to please refund my AMX and explaining that I had COVID. I also asked her to reach out to my manager who could confirm my absence from work and provide my testing results. But Tiffany did not call me back, and Tiffany did not remove the charges. I was directed by my manager to contact Hotel Engine. Hotel Engine has contacted Tiffany two times over the last 60 days explaining the situation and offering to provide proof of my COVID status for the week in question. Tiffany has given the same response both times: It is the hotelâs policy, and that policy is clearly stated, to require cancellation of a reservation within 24 hours in order to receive a full refund. I did not meet that obligation and she is not under any obligation to refund the charges. I agree with her and always have. What I was asking for, what Hotel Engine was asking for, what the State of Texas was asking for, was a little heart. Please when you visit this hotel, let Tiffany know that in the event she has family members who are now, or find themselves in the future, to be in vulnerable populations where they no longer have the agency to advocate for themselves, she can rely on people like me to step up and insure they are protected and receive the proper care from those who are paid to provide services for them under the state of Texasâ Medicaid waiver programs. Because I have a heart that beats.

We had four families staying here for Spring Break. We chose this place because it was close to Six Flaggs, had a basketball court and indoor pool for the kids to play in. Court was great the first night, but second night was overloaded with a church group from the adjacent hotel, that they share the court with. No problem, so the kids can go in the pool, nope, it was freezing and indoor! Apparently the heater for the hot tub was broken, I assume it heats the pool too. On Wednesday we were told it would be fixed and still wasnât on Saturday when we left. But at least we had the basketball court. First night our large group was able to hang out in the courtyard. Again fire pitt wasnât working. And never got fixed while we were there. Last night was colder but there was enough room for us to spread out in the lobby. Snack for purchase area was good, they probably should have planned on stocking up since it was spring break for most of Texas. But kids could still find a few things. Breakfast, eggs every day, they were good. A different protein every day. Typical waffle maker, muffins, cereals, milk. No potatoes, and no fresh fruit. Fruit cups donât count. That was a surprise. Iâve always seen bananas and apples at free breakfast buffets. Staff was nice. The guy there the first day, Joshua?, he was extremely nice, helpful, courteous, great guy. Two bedroom suite was great. Not new, not too old. Clean. Kitchen was stocked with a few things you may need. But bring large trash bags and dish soap for washing dishes if needed. Fridge has an ice maker. Beds were fairly comfortable. Pillows were all different types so you can hopefully find one you like. Location was great for restaurants and felt fairly safe. We would stay there again. Just hope the pool items were fixed.

Stayed here for 7 nights during Thanksgiving. Staff at this hotel were stars especially at the front desk. The front desk staff all were cheerful and full of energy. It was no problem asking for extra towels or other things. All requests were met with smiles. Our stay was disturbed unfortunately by finding a bug in the bed. Staff there were quick to relocate us to a new room without making us feel we were the problem. The hotel and room were clean otherwise - and my wife is particular about cleanliness. She had no complaints otherwise. Appearance of the hotel was great and location was excellent - I was able to walk to the Parks Mall (nice mall) one day and there are dozens of restaurants within 1 mile or so of the hotel. I noticed police cars staged across the street in the hospital parking lot on multiple days which made for a safe feel. Clean fitness center which was small, but had signage that implied time had to be reserved, but I didn't need to do so. Biggest issue (other than finding a crawling bug in the bed) was the breakfast was not very good. I'm used to Residence Inn breakfasts from multiple past stays at this brand, but this particular hotel had very bland waffles and syrup. One last complaint - there were multiple instances that staff were not wearing masks nor enforcing lack of masks by guests.
