Staybridge Suites Amarillo Western Crossing an IHG Hotel

On the surface this place looked nice, but once we got to our room it was a different story. The carpet was stained and sticky, but I was willing to look past this. It got worse though. My husband and three kids went asleep, I found cockroaches running on the little kitchen counter, on the wall, and the floor. I woke everyone up and we left. They did not give us our money back, they only gave us a $40 discount. We were on the second floor and more towards the middle of the building. If the roaches were on the second floor in the middle of the building, then that means they are in the walls and not coming from an exterior door.

There are budget motels in third world countries cleaner than this dump. It is the grossest, stinkiest place I've ever stayed at. It's hard to describe, but here goes: Canned Chef Boyardee Ravioli + Cat Urine... that's what the whole place smells like. The floors are filthy... sticky. We were just afraid to touch anything. The maids are too busy blasting their norteño music in the hallways or talking on their cell phones to actually clean. When you ask them for something simple, like a towel... they say "no English" The staff is rude and arrogant. Learn how to smile and be pleasant... and clean, you're in the the hospitality business. This place is a disaster, stay elsewhere.

The outside of the hotel looked nice. However our room was a different story. There were ants in our room, along with very dirty walls and furniture. The front desk was very nice and offered a different room. It was less dirty but still gross. Will not return! Housekeeping needs to learn how to clean properly.

The air conditioning is terrible! Our first room was 88° so they moved us to another room. It was 77° and never got any cooler all night. The kitchen area was nasty with hair everywhere. The bathroom sink sprayed water in your face and all over the room when you turned it on. If we hadn’t checked in so late we would’ve tried to go somewhere else but we will not be back. The outside and hall temp was significantly cooler than the rooms.

We had to make a quick decision on a place to spend the night after we experienced a flat tire after dinner and all tire stores etc were closed for the evening. Our room was equipped with a kitchen, living room and 2 comfy queen beds! Great night sleep.
