Candlewood Suites Nashville South An IHG Hotel

The location of the hotel is terrible. It is located next to a train yard where the trains run all night. I attempted to speak with the manager regarding compensation but she hung up the phone when asked for corporate contact info. I was there this weekend to complete my clinical for my nursing degree and almost failed on Sunday due to lack of sleep and exhaustion. Attempted to call hotel back after Andrea hung up and got her voicemail. She was unempathetic and wanted to explain others experience at the hotel which is not my experience and I do not care how many people still book the hotel. People continue to book because they are unaware they are next to a train yard. The noise was unbearably loud all day and night. Then the hotel lost power on Sunday morning of my stay. The elevators did not work so I had to drag all my luggage down the stairwell. I would like to be refunded for my stay. People book hotels to sleep and relax and I did not experience either at this location.

I've never stayed in a Candlewood Suites before, but I came to visit family who live nearby. This hotel was the closest to my family, and we didn't want to stay in a tourist area. This area seems safe enough. The location was fine for us since we were driving. It's a convenient location if you have a car. We appreciated the free parking, which is rare in Nashville. We had a quiet stay. We used both the heating and cooling. Both worked well, and the fan provided a nice amount of white noise that helped lessen any outside noise. The room was large, and it had a great closet. We didn't really need a kitchen, but this was a nice one if you are looking for that. The room could have been cleaner. The tub, sink, toilet, and kitchen were clean enough. I'm not sure about the floor. I think the shower curtain was clean, but it was ragged on one side. The walls need to be cleaned. I was surprised that this hotel is not that old. Our room looked like some guests had been rough on it - maybe pets? We didn't have any problems during our stay. I don't know that this is definitely the place we're going to stay whenever we visit Nashville, but it would be okay.

Wife called to inform running late, employee said “it’s cool”. Wife: you mean fine. Employee: it’s fine. As we arrived on Sunday evening the front desk employee didn’t even acknowledge us while he remained focus on his cell phone. Instead of him informing us in regards to the hotel, we had to ask questions. The room is similar to a studio apartment. It was clean however the recliner did not work. We came down to inform and also inquire about a walk in shower with doors as oppose to shower curtain. Manager came out and looked at computer but he didn’t acknowledge us either. We spoke with four employees and only one said morning. Need to welcome your guests. We did not feel welcome. Too casual for our liking. Employee wearing a sweatshirt They did fix the recliner however the bed was so soft that my wife could not sleep that it cause her back pain and we checked out. Further the halls smelled of cigarette and when we walked out in the morning it smelled like a full ashtray outside. Location is “sketchy”.

We were on our way home after a 28-day road trip through 18 states and 6,275 miles. This was our last stop before getting back to Kennesaw, GA. Of the 8 hotels we stayed in during this trip, this was the BEST ONE OF ALL! It is a pretty new hotel, and they keep everything SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. We loved the room, the amenities, the bathroom supplies, bedding and kitchen equipment. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are going through Nashville. Great job Candlewood Suites/IGH!

Good hotel and location. Quiet night, just know you will hear the sounds of the trains outside, especially when they are coupling/uncoupling cars. Didn't bother us much at all. Parking lot is well lit, seems pretty secure. Beds were comfortable, pillows a little flat. My only caution, is to not to use the "Order Inn Room Service" that is offered. We ordered food, and were told it would be 45 minutes. An hour later, called back and was told our driver was on the way. Called back at the 2 hour mark and asked for a refund, which was provided.
