The Smokehouse Lodge and Cabins

While we only stayed one night, we were pleasantly surprised! The room was very spacious, very clean and beds were comfortable. Bathroom shower had great hot water and we loved that a handheld shower head was installed. The office area is very inviting with seating to relax and cozy fireplace. The staff was super friendly and very informative. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely visit!

We’ve stayed here frequently between coming and going. Please please please trim your trees back! We stayed twice in December. My husband’s truck was scratched by the low branches and had a branch fall on it. Their power lines are very low too. Cabins 441 and 440 are very nice. No stairs for older dogs. Stamped concrete floor. Very comfy bed and soft sheets/pillows. The split-wall unit kept us warm. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned on our second trip. Cabins 444 and 443 are newer and work if you have a car. Cabin 430 has a wooden floor that’s about to be a liability. There are brick stairs to get in. We stayed on a night that was in the low 20°s, and thank goodness we brought dry wood with us. Heat pumps don’t work at those temps. But, the wood fireplace in each cabin is a great addition. Bring your own wood and fire starters… their wood is green and wet. They do sell starters at the front desk.

this place is really bad, especially for the price. Very uncomfortable bed, toilet is loose from the wall, faucet and shower is loose from the wall, wall paint is disgusting color and dirty. The place was clean enough, but I would never stay here again. There’s also a funny sign in the bathroom saying you have to pay lots of money if you die your hair in the tub.hard to use remote control. It is convenient to Suwanee, however.

I picked this hotel because it was a halfway point to my travel destination. The photos look so nice and most reviews were good but when I went to check in I asked if the room had a refrigerator and they said no because I got a low price from a third party (booking.com). After checking my invoice online one of the room items listed was a refrigerator! I then ask if they had an ice machine which was down stairs so I could keep my meds cool. Who knew something so simple as a refrigerator would not be available? I was told my room was upstairs to the back of the building (no elevator), after bringing my luggage upstairs I was tired. Tried to turn TV on with no signal, called the lobby they said they could send someone but by then I didn’t want to mess with it a denied the help. This place is so cute and the grounds are beautiful but it’s in desperate need of some TLC. Bed was comfy, wifi worked well. No breakfast included but the Waffle House down the street was excellent! Not sure if I would stay again but they do take pets so that was a plus.

This is the worst place anyone can stay. Place is filthy, nothing is as advertised. The only decent thing is the pool. They lie and charge you more that shown, can’t give a print out of reservations, they say email is down and printer isn’t working. All in all it’s a scam and don’t recommend staying here.
