Residence Inn By Marriott Knoxville Cedar Bluff

We stay exclusively at Residence Inns as their pet policy is the same in all of them and we travel with a standard poodle. Check in easy, all the usual Residence Inn parts such as the standard breakfast buffet and easy check in. Easy on and off the interstate in complex of several Marriott brands. Staff were ok but not overboard. Hotel in fairly good shape.

Pros: location is good, close to many restaurants and easy access to interstate. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Cons: property is in desperate need of a facelift. The windows in our room didn’t close all the way, leading to the constant sound of interstate noise all night. Breakfast was not great- dried bagels and biscuits, bland eggs. Felt more like an interstate motel than what I would expect from a Marriott property.

Excellent staff, Reagan at the front desk was very engaging and helpful on a number of questions I had. I was very surprised she had only been there a month. Ownership has a great hiring process. Rooms are clean as was the whole property. They do need to update their TVs. They are flat screen but the first generation models.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a place to stop over for a short visit before moving on to another location. Hotel was well located, clean and comfortable for our visit. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating which made the experience pleasant.

We arrived during a thunderstorm and we’re surprised that there was no covered canopy under which we could unload our luggage. Consequently we and our luggage were soaking wet when we checked in. Our room had no luggage caddy. We didn’t want to place a wet suitcase on the bed to unpack so we had to improvise and set up the ironing board to unpack. When we tried to latch the door for safety, the latch fell on the floor because the pin was broken. There wasn’t a glass or coffee cup in the kitchen. When we inquired at the front desk we were told that we would need to unload the dishwasher. It seems that even on vacation we can’t escape kitchen chores :). There was no ice bucket in our suite either. On a positive note the bed was comfortable. We wouldn’t choose to stay at this hotel again. The front desk clerk Samantha was very pleasant.
