I will say from check-in to check-out I had a very good experience. Reception was kind enough to let check me in early. She also let me know there was some touch-up paint applied to the room that morning, and if I had any problems with smell etc, to be sure and let them know. I did not and was impressed with how clean and well equipped the room was. I felt the location was close to many shops and restaurants; though it can be a busy road and there is no light if you want to turn left out of the hotel. All the staff I ran into were pleasant (except for breakfast attendant) and helpful. As a female traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable and would highly recommend this hotel to others traveling to VA Mountain Home or Johnson City.

Room 408 Lovely view of the mountains and the courtyard below from the room. Room was mostly clean. The sofa had some stains. Rusting on the front of the refrigerator. Bathroom shower was clean with the exception of the ring around the drain. That part just looked gross, do better. Small kitchen with full size refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, 2 burner stovetop, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, etc. Desk and chair, small sectional sofa with two small ottomans, King size bed, 3 drawer dresser with flat screen TV, 2 nightstands, AC/heater is a window unit in the bedroom area that’s controlled by a wall thermostat. TV can be turned to watch from the sofa or from the bed. Vanity, single sink, and closet are separated from the toilet and shower by a door. Handy if there’s multiple people getting ready. Good water pressure in the shower. Facilities: Breakfast - I didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the food. One of the things I always liked about the Staybridge hotels is their free laundry. Bring your own detergent or buy some in their store. There’s an indoor pool at this location and a nice courtyard with a fireplace, 2 BBQ’s, chairs, small tables, and a covered seating area surrounded by grass/trees. Great for letting kiddos get some running around done. Large parking lot with good lighting. Location is set back from North Roan Street, so it’s quiet and close to lots of restaurants, shops, and highway 26. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my 3 night stay. I would stay here again. Suggestions: *Add a toilet lid - no one wants to look at a toilet bowl. *Folks smoking right in front of the hotel doors just brings the smoke inside. Create a smoking area with an umbrella and chairs by the silo.

I was moving from Johnson City to Australia and needed accommodation for a few days after selling my house before leaving. I had stayed in other Staybridge Suites while on vacation and found them all to be exceptionally nice. This one was an immense disappointment. The hotel itself was clean and the room was nice, but the hotel staff was not professional at all, and actually a little on the scary side. Upon arriving to check in, the front desk girl was wearing a hoodie and had two bar stools from the dining area pulled up directly in front of the check in counter with 2 children. She shooed them off and checked us in. The first night we were there, our room was almost directly over the front entrance and I was awaked around midnight by loud voices and a car revving it's engine. I looked out the window to see what was happening, thinking I would call down to the front desk and ask them to intervene, but instead it was the desk clerk in the hoodie outside with a group of people she obviously knew, so I realized that wasn't going to happen. A day or so later, I walked outside to get in my rental car and she was parked in the unloading spot for the hotel, sitting in her car with 3 other people and the scent of pot was wafting out of the rolled up windows. When I went to use the laundry area, the door was propped open and a guy was inside doing his laundry, telling me his wife worked there and he came there to do the families laundry since it was free. So much for paying customers having access as he was using every washer and dryer in the room. Another desk clerk was approached to ask about coffee for the dining area and as I walked up, she looked up and said very curtly, "what do YOU want?" No customer service skills at all in this place. I actually placed a call to Staybridge corporate customer service line, They seemed concerned, but told me the manager would contact me when she returned from her vacation. I received an email from her with an incredibly insincere "thank you for your comments". This entire place seemed very sketchy and I would never recommend it and would never consider staying there again.

First time staying at Staybridge Suites and it will be my new go-to place from now on. Room decor is out of the world, hotel amendities in itself is top notch. Makes you feel like you are staying in some high class boutique apartment type living complete with residents whom seem to be quite cozy there. Full bar breakfast. Fitness room, indoor pool, meeting rooms, a "family type living room" off the main floor, laundry room free to guests to use, outdoor grill area, outdoor guest seating for socializing, fanastic hill top view of mountains, full size refrig, 2 burner stove, dish washer, I really felt I was staying in a condo. Plenty of restaurants nearby, shopping, etc.... Only reason I gave it a 4, not a 5 was that I felt the housekeeping in my room was a little substandard which I was surprised about (just the bathroom area), But most definitely would I stay there again.

The entrance is the street right after the sonic. The entrance is nice. We arrived to the front desk informing us that the pool was closed for maintenance, why on a Friday! How long did you know it was closed? If we would have been informed we would have been able to change our plans. We chose this hotel 25 miles out of the way because if the pool! Telling us that we can go tot eh open public pools is not the correct answer. To not even give a discount when a major amenity is down is inexcusable! Finding out there is zero soap in the shower is also inexcusable! This means the cleaning crew is not checking bottles for a long time. The hole in the cushion on the sofa is expected because I am sure the people who did this just turned it around! The AC closet is in the bedroom so if you are a light sleeper you could be in for a rough night. The lady that was working the breakfast was not happy as the dishes being chatted around was a bit much! You do have real silverware and dishes, but plastic cups. No bananas and the apples and oranges looked a little apathetic. The coffee ran out. Wish they had another option of bagel than plain. The milk was confusing as the digital read out said 1/2 and 1/2 but the label on top said 2%. Girls drank it either way. There is not a lot of table space, but you could sit on couches and balance your plate in the den area or the middle of the eating area if you dare. Overall, the configuration is a lot of wasted space that could have been used for table and chair space to sit down and eat. If they had options of trays to carry food we would have gone back to our room. I was asked if they could email me a receipt because it was not printing I said ok and two days later still have not received.
