Budget Inn Missouri

Bugs in the bathtub, large spot of??? on the sheets. Our room had the furniture out from the walls and tools scattered. Found out staff was trying to patch holes. Letter posted in hallway outside office that the water had tested positive for E. coli 16 times in the past couple of years. Nothing was mentioned about this at check in. Other occupants were definitely long term. Was $20 higher than what I saw online. Should have gone elsewhere! Learned our lesson.

Second visit, so far so good. Very clean and cozy. It is just a small motel to lay your head down in. Have not seen any bugs on either visit, which is great, WiFi is free, but does not work, faucet needs to run awhile to get warm water so that needs updating, you pay up front which is different. They must have been having people not pay, don't know for sure. If you are looking for a place to bed down in a safe part of town this place will work. Just wish they would fix the hot water situation. Small office chair, wish they had a recliner. Gentlemen at desk was cordial, we talked about the Chiefs. Did not try free continental breakfast, but looks extremely limited. Don't expect a lot here, but only $44 per night through Expedia, better than paying $100 per night. Will update, if needed.

We secured this room via Expedia and the rooms were a heavy smoke smell. We requested a non-smoking room and they said the other room they had smelled worse; and that we could sleep in the RV in back but that it too smelled like smoke. We went to the Best Western down the street (very clean) and secured a room. We went back and requested a refund as our asthmatic kids cannot sleep in that smoke environment. They declined. Expedia tried to get it refunded since it was not usable for us and the refused to cooperate with Expedia.

The lady who manages the hotel seemed very sweet, however her husband, who answers the phones, was completely rude, unprofessional, and outright crude with his behavior and spoken words. I'd suggest absolutely nobody stay at this property as long as he is associated with it, as that was very indicative of the level of service you should expect when residing here.

Very comfortable bed, nice room with 1080p Hisense HDTV. Floors clean, bathroom clean and nice hardwood flooring. Bed wasvery nice except for old, stained comforter, but staining was not too bad. Sink only had cold water, but shower was very hot, when needed. Heater/AC worked well in room 103 which was a non smoking queen size bed. Access to ice machine and truck stop a block away. A few miles to nearest restaurants. I would stay again, If I have to. Did not have bug issue like others, but this is January and don't expect to see them in the cold weather. Able to secure discount on Expedia to cut $5 off each night.
