Econo Lodge Wall

The check-in was smooth and while the staff are helpful and friendly, the overwhelming perfume smells start with check-in as well. Since they do not have an in hotel breakfast option, you are given a voucher for a free breakfast per person at the Badlands Saloon downtown. We utilized it on our way out of town. The meal was the best part of the stay using Econo Lodge. In our opinions, this place is the only eatery worth visiting in Wall. The small, low toilets are always a problem and this trip was no exception. For a person with mobility issues such as ours, these toilets are a hotel's money saving nuisance. The loud sounds from the room above was annoying but as many motel style locations (outside access rooms), this wasn't unexpected. Everywhere and everything was overwhelming perfumed!! From the check-in area to the bedding to the bathroom supplies, everything stunk. We stayed the one night but immediately canceled the additional reservation because of the sinus overload. We woke up stuffed and having trouble breathing. Using covering perfumes does not indicate clean and, in fact, causes allergies/asthma to flare.

The hotel room was dark and dingy. I was on the first floor under the stairs and couldn’t wait to leave. It was close to the Badlands, so that was the best thing. The lights from the parking lot lit up the whole room and I had to try to pin the curtains shut with a hanger.

Clean, friendly, quiet, just the right spot. Wall had little to offer for quality but this Econolodge is top notch. Even the corners are clean. Great job. Hotel wise: if you travel for budget this is great,pillows are meh, so bring your own, beds are soft, but clean, amenities for room arnt going to be to quality due to econo type. But if you need it, it’s there. Ac Unit is noisy, but effective, and clean. Toilet flush for some time, but clean, shower clean, towels clean.

Very comfortable! The bedsheets were soft, I was in a corner room so it was very quiet. I had my dog with me, he was an extra $30 fee. For it being an “Econo Lodge” I do think the price was high. But the room was clean, there was lots of soap and the Wi-Fi worked. The only thing I didn’t love was that the shower was in pretty bad shape and the shower head was also built for someone 5 foot tall. It was super short, and the only setting on the shower head was was not great.

The good: Awesome and super friendly check-in! Room exceptionally clean The bad: Smoking area was right outside our door. The entire hotel are outside room doors only. Noise, noise and more noise. Pool was closed. Low profile toilets are way too low! This is a real problem throughout the U.S. hotels. No elevator. The ugly: We were counting on eating at the Subway next to the hotel. It is gone. The breakfast is a bagged meal -- literally in a paper bag. While they were easy to take along on travels, this does NOT accommodate food allergies so most of ours got tossed.
