Tru by Hilton Rapid City Rushmore

Check in was good, the desk person was great and personable!! However the housekeeping was a totally different matter! We got back to our room after being gone the 1st day to find the bathroom had been cleaned and trash taken (including trash bags) however trash bags had not been replaced and beds were not touched!. When I asked at the front desk they apologized and stated they would pass along our concerns. The second day when we got back, the room had not been couched and housekeeping stated they were told we asked for "no service" That was not true!! we left so they could clean the room. Came back and beds had been sort of made, as in sheets thrown back, however it was a sloppy job and there were now bags in the trash cans. This time the bathroom had not been cleaned! Paid a premium price to have a walk in shower, and expected there would be decent service for that price. I was also very disappointed that there was no microwave and not even an ice bucket or coffee maker in the room. There was a small fridge. I think this is Hilton's attempt at a "budget" hotel, and have to say they are NOT doing it well. I have traveled a good bit and to be frank have never paid this much or had this bad of an experience ever before. My recommendation is to STAY AWAY!! This hotel shares a building with Hampton Inn. I suspect they offer better services and probably at similar rates

Spent two nights here on our way to visit Mount Rushmore, and crazy horse. Clean comfortable rooms. Love the walk in shower, free breakfast. Close to shopping and dining. Staff were accommodating. Love staying at True. Never disappointed.

Overall the room was great. Loved the toiletries that were provided. Smelled great! Only gripe is that my sister and I had to wait at the front desk for over 15 minutes for someone to check us in. We couldn’t find the front desk attendant anywhere and it was super frustrating because we had been on the road for hours and we were extremely tired. When the guy finally came back around, he never apologized if we had been waiting, and just overall was not very friendly. Never made eye contact with us. I did not catch his name, but he had longer red hair. When we walked out of the hotel a few hours later, he never even acknowledged us. He was sitting in a chair on his phone behind the desk. Definitely not a good first impression. I would stay here again due to the cleanliness of the hotel and the location, but they should really consider pulling that guy off the front desk. Not a people person.

A very nice place to stay while visiting the Mount Rushmore site seeing. It is connected to the Hampton Inn so the amenities are little bigger, such as pool and gym. Very convenient to the shopping, restaurant and the highway. Definitely recommend this hotel for family traveling.

The hotel is great, clean, big rooms very comfortable , good breakfast, great staffing. The front desk staffing are great kindly. Ted help us and solve and situation that I had. Ted made my day great and the rest of guys in front desk are the best. Very nice. Everything there is good, great location. Definitely I will stay there again. Is very recommended . Beautiful place.
