La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham at WaTiki Waterpark

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had, where do I even start. The combination of the water park attached to the hotel is an interesting concept but it clearly does not work. Not everyone is at the hotel to party and some are here to travel and are looking for a quiet relaxing stay. Very weird that water park guests are routed onto the second floor of the hotel to the entrance of the water park and there is not secure access between the water park and guest rooms. On a week night the water park was packed with people from open to close, if they are going to allow non hotel guests access to the water park, these numbers of outside people should be limited to give hotel guests fair access as well since there is no other pool facility in the hotel. Check in process was not a breeze and was super sketchy, I had filled out and sent a credit card authorization via the portal link the hotel had sent out to me. The front desk clerk knew nothing of this and didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about. The sketchy part was he allowed me to provide him a credit card number written down on a piece of paper for a card that was not even in my name, even though I asked him multiple times "are you sure this is ok". The room itself was very worn and dirty, broken pieces out of furniture, lots of wear on the furniture finishes, worn out sagging mattress and noisy is an understatement. Banging/crashing sounds from the room(s) above, kids running up and down the hallways, not a relaxing stay at all. Not a relaxing stay at all. The final straw is I booked well ahead (months) thinking that would get me the best deal, NOT the case. Checked 10 days before my stay and found the room was $15 cheaper for a "higher class" of room. Then checked the day of and found the same room was now listed $20 cheaper. Is this really how you treat your high level loyalty members? Management needs to decide if they are running a water park and arcade or a hotel. Can't believe Wyndham endorses this property and it is considered "up to their standards". The kitchen staff are awesome during the week, not so good on weekends. I can not remember a front desk staff that was better than than the people at LaQuinta Rapid City. I travel 9 days a month to Rapid City and have used 5 different hotels, the last 3 months have been at LaQuinta, my new home away from home

Dirty, overpriced, outdated, and terrible staff. The room first off was showing terrible signs of wear and tear. The extra pillow in the cupboard had blood all over it. Went to the bar for the worst drink that costed me $14. Then later that night went to the little front desk convenience store to buy three pops that costed $18!! Worst hotel ever.

This hotel was very dirty. You can tell they don’t clean the rooms besides making the beds and vacuum. I’m glad I brought my own wipes, to do a quick wipe down. Hallways were not cleaned, they don’t mop. They need to figure something else out with breakfast. There are way too many people in that little area.

Stayed here for two nights for a business trip. This has one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in! Very soft and comfy. The room was very clean. The noise above me with kids running around wasn't awesome but it's a waterpark hotel so to be expected. Breakfast was make-your-own waffles, bagels, biscuits, sausage and gravy, eggs, cereal and different juices. Walking distance to eat at Perkins.
