This hotel Stole my Room deposit. I cancelled my reservation the same day I booked it. I was using the Hotel website directly and it was 10 days out. When I called CS at the Hotel they Hung up on me. I cannot believe this has happened to an American in America, South Dakota no less. I am filing a suit and I will not let this go.

Positives - This property is in a great location in the middle of main street, has a nice hot breakfast served from 6am - 10am, staff was nice, and a small casino and bar was accessible through the lobby. You do need to obtain your Players Card across the street at their sister Gold Dust Casino/Hotel. Negatives - Their website notes that rollaway beds are available and listed pricing for a third person. I'm a Travel Advisor and Tour Operator and understand that there are generally a limited number, so I not only noted the request in the IHG booking, but called the hotel directly to put that request in. I was told that I was the "First person to request that so there shouldn't be a problem". Upon arrival I was told they "Haven't had rollaway beds in 2 years, corporate took them out". I was shocked. When I explained I had called I was told "You must have called corporate, and they lie all the time". I then asked for a queen room with a pull-out couch and was told "We only have 3 and they were all booked". The only choice was to pay for another room. I spoke to multiple staff that repeated the "No rollaways for two years". I pointed out that the "Rollaways Available" remained on the hotel's website under "Rooms". I called IHG about the issue and was told properties are independently owned but they put me on hold to contact the property and advised that the Property Manager would be contacting me within 48 hours. I also emailed the hotel directly about the issue. It has been 7 days with no response from the property. The additional room was on the first floor and is adjacent to the lobby, with the windows facing into the entrance/breakfast area, so we awoke to the sounds of people sitting outside our window/room eating breakfast and chatting. Nighttime shared the sounds coming and going through the entrance and casino. There is a coffee maker, but it only had one paper cup wrapped in plastic, with a piece of used chewing gum inside it. I let the front desk know about the incident, but no one seemed upset or too surprised. All-in-all, I will be choosing a different property for my scheduled group as Deadwood offers numerous hotels on Main Street. If you are traveling with more than 3 people (and want separate bedding), I would avoid this property. And I would definitely request a room above the first floor.

Check in was wonderful and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and we loved our double sinks separate from shower area. The free breakfast was good. Lots to choose from and everything was fresh and hot. Parking was a block away but it was a nice refreshing walk to our SUV when we would go touring for the day. The location was awesome. Right in the middle of Main Street. We had NO complaints at all. Would definitely stay here again if we visited Deadwood again.

Good stay - clean and comfortable. Right in the middle of Deadwood and near everything. Free parking but about a block away since in a no-parking zone (can temporarily park up to 20 mins at the lobby to drop off bags) Breakfast ok but subpar for a HI imo, and did not like that the seating area was near the front door

I reserved a room for three nights. There was a storm, so I had to call and cancel the first night, Friday. I understood that I would be charged. I made it very clear that we would be there Saturday. I repeated this several times. When we got there Saturday, it was before three, but I thought I would try to check in as the front desk person was letting others checked in. When she looked up my reservation, she quickly said you have to come back and picked up the phone and started talking to someone else. We came back and someone else was working. Somebody had cancelled our entire reservation. She got on the phone, and we were told we would get a refund but had to book again and pay again. We have never received the refund. It was over $1000. I have emailed over and over and called over and over and nobody will help us. We went to the Holiday Inn site to make the reservation, yet they keep brushing us off saying it isn't them and give us no help at all. I will never stay there again. We were robbed.
