Residence Inn by Marriott Spartanburg Westgate

I would have given it five stars if it was for the rude reception we got when we arrived. We checked in online early in the day. We ended up getting to the hotel early and we just wanted to make sure we were checked in because we were visiting family and were not coming back until later in the day. The older lady at the front desk was so nasty and unhelpful that my wife wanted us to stay somewhere else. We did not and thankfully that was the last we saw of this nasty person. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was great, our room was great, and everyone else working at this hotel was wonderful. It’s a shame we just had that one bad experience.

Wow, what a clean hotel!! The staff was friendly and helpful!! If you want to run a hotel this is how to do it! From the desk staff to the breakfast staff to the grounds staff they all took pride in their work The room was spotless & the breakfast had a nice variety!! Would stay again and recommend it to others!!!

This hotel was a convenient stop on our recent road trip. The hotel staff was great and very helpful. The hotel was very clean. The hotel was quiet and the beds comfortable. There was a Costco nearby.

I have to be honest. I was a little afraid driving up as the location is kind of tucked away. But the hotel is immaculate! It not only looks clean but smells clean as well. The staff is attentive and reminds me of family. Definitely could have called any of them 'Auntie' and I think they would have responded affectionately. Breakfast is typically the same no matter where you go. Eggs, toast, bagels, cereal...etc. but this was TERRIFIC! Grits were cooked perfectly. I enjoyed my stay here and will be back again.

New Marriott hotel, great find! In group of 3 hotels (Hampton and a Hilton). Two nice restaurants next door, including a farm to table restaurant in the Hilton. Even next to a Costco for cheap gas fill up for our road trip! Large room, clean and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
