Tru By Hilton Santee

I almost didn't stay here due to reviews, but I am so glad I did! Everything was excellent. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate! It is a budget hotel by Hilton, so it may not have as many amenities as other Hilton brands, but it had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows were so nice that we wished we could buy them! The bathroom had everything we needed and the shower was great. Another commenter said they didn't have a mirror. Perhaps they stayed when the hotel first opened or maybe something happened to the mirror in their room, because they do have full length mirrors just outside the bathroom. You will not have a coffee maker, but you can just get coffee with your free breakfast or go to Starbucks just down the road. There was a small fridge which was nice to keep our drinks cold overnight. There is also a desk in the room which we appreciated. There is a pool, a gym, an area to hang out in the lobby with a pool table as well as drinks and snacks you can purchase. We will definitely stop there again next time we are passing through.

[I TOOK PICTURES] Never staying at the one in Santee, SC again! I'm a Gold Honors member, so I stay at Hilton's quite often. --NO coffee --NO microwave --Children (babies) running up and down the halls and screaming until late at night. --A few doors down, there were at least 10 people staying in one room. --NO MIRRORS. Room was missing the mirror (and I really needed a mirror, so I was super annoyed that a Hilton hotel had the mirror taken off the wall). --Empty shampoo bottles --Empty conditioner bottles --Housekeeping is very minimal, so bring your bleach wipes. --Not only do you pay a hefty amount here but you also get the pleasure of cleaning your room after the last guests have left. --There was trash in the trash cans --Awesome lady at the check-in desk. She should get a raise!

Sorry to say we probably won’t stay at another Tru Hotel. I can understand that they want to keep costs down by not having certain things in room. We did not miss coffee in room, never use it anyway, but no microwave. I have food allergies and cannot eat all foods at breakfast so we pack our own when we travel so I depend on a microwave in room. Not even one in dining room. They use a tray revolving under light bulb. Only one wash cloth so husband had to use hand towel to take shower. First time at hotel probably last time at hotel.

Nice and new Tru. Easy location right off I95. Clean and comfortable new rooms. Very friendly staff. Not many restaurants on this exit - but Clarks Inn was best around. There is a Cracker Barrel next door. Good stop for a good nights sleep during a road trip.

We had been guests at Tru by hilton other times previously during our trips to and from Florida. The hotel is fairly good, but this review is not for the hotel, but for the person who answered our call on 10/25/2024. When we asked the price for the night of 10/26 we were quoted $396 for the night. Shocked by the price a said that the last time we were there the price was $131 per night. His answer was that this rooms were sold out and if I wanted those prices i should go to Hotel 6 and then he hung up. Umprofessional at the least.
