Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Charleston Airport Conven

The only positives are that it is close to the airport and the staff is super friendly, especially the woman in charge of breakfast. All the rest is negative: uncomfortable beds, very, very noisy and rundown rooms, watered down coffee. Neither my us and or myself slept well here. The 3 star review is because the staff is outstanding, otherwise it would be even lower. As a side note, I am disturbed that a Marriott hotel uses paper/plastic plates and cutlery for breakfast. So much waste for the landfill.

This hotel is located across the street from Tanger Outlets. Besides the outlet mall, several restaurants are located near it. We were surprised there was a $10 a night parking fee. It’s only 15 minutes away from downtown Charleston. The hotel room was clean, but there was a water stain on the ceiling and it appeared they were doing some re-wiring in the hallways. Also, our refrigerator was not working properly. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was sufficient and was kept stopped. While the hotel is not luxurious, it’s an affordable option for a quick stopover.

We were traveling here from Buffalo, NY to go on a cruise. We had a reservation for Sunday night, but because of a snowstorm in Buffalo we traveled in one day beforehand. We had two reservations--one for each night. We booked this way because we were in a hurry to change our plane reservations and get out of Buffalo (before we couldn't). We were lucky to encounter desk clerk Miami when we arrived at the hotel after a long day of traveling from Buffalo amid many plane delays during Thanksgiving weekend. We were very tired, but Miami was sympathetic to our plight and helped us so we could stay in the same room both nights. As we would come and go during the two nights we stayed here, Miami would greet us, and she made us feel right at home. Other staff that we interacted with were very friendly as well, including the people who set up, maintain and clean up the complimentary morning breakfast. The hotel itself is older, but all of the surfaces were refreshed and amenities in good working order. We stayed in an Executive King Suite. The walls were freshly painted and carpeting was new throughout the building. The room, public hotel areas and outside areas were very clean and well-maintained. We did not experience any issues. There is an outside pool at this location, but it was too cold to use during our stay. The complimentary breakfast is nice--milk, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereals, assortment of grains/breads, oatmeal, waffles, a hot egg selection, a vegetarian selection and a hot meat selection. Everything was tasty and refilled regularly during the posted breakfast times. We found the people of Charleston to very warm, polite and welcoming as well as the staff at this Fairfield Inn & Suites Charleston Airport/Convention Center. After a long day of traveling, we were very happy with the complimentary shuttle service to the hotel. Give them a call when you get to the pickup spot, and the shuttle runs every 20 minutes. If we ever do return to this area again (and I would hope we do), I would book this hotel in a heartbeat. The Tanger Outlets are a short walk across the street and even though the hotel does not have a restaurant, there are dining options within walking distance and food delivery is available i.e. Doordash.

One of the worst Marriott properties I have ever stayed at. Dirty and very poor quality. I stay at Marriott properties 15 days per month so I do know the differences. It is worn with wall paper peeling off the walls and stains and cracks in ceiling. Bed was very uncomfortable

Miami and Torres were great when we checked in that night. Shuttle pick up was super quick and easy. General manager with blonde hair was also super friendly with lots of good tips for our trips. She even drive us to the airport the morning at checkout on the shuttle to pick up our rental car. Hot breakfast.
