We stayed two nights at the Red Roof Inn while visiting Myrtle Beach with our dog. Many "dog-friendly" hotels in Myrtle Beach have breed/weight restrictions so we stayed here with our 50-pound husky. Room was clean and spacious through the water pressure wasn't very good, but we could at least take showers. Location is nice, its not on the beach, but a short 5-minute walk and easy access to all the amenities of Myrtle Beach. I would stay here again if visiting Myrtle Beach with the dog.

This venue is frequented by many local homeless, and the poorer segments of Myrtle Beach, as well as poor travelers in the off-season, or winter time. I used the laundry to wash four items of clothing, and the handful of clothes were stolen from the clothes dryer, in a span of two hours, while I went to take a shower. The assistant manager was completely indifferent to my complaint about this, telling me to call the local police and file a report, instead of checking the camera footage to figure out who had taken my clothing, which would of been relatively easy. He offered no comfort or concern, so hospitality was clearly not his gig. The venue is also frequented by droves of poor immigrants doing construction work, who look like they could use some extra clothing. No offense to the poor, but half the management here are not genuinely hospitable or warm. AVOID DURING THE OFF SEASON !!!

First, the lady at reception was accommodating, though we did not get the room with a fridge and microwave ( I thought it was basic in every room) I asked her and she declined it but she had her reason as we booked through 3rd party (booking dot com) Anyway, we got a room on the 4th floor, it was clean and good. Basic facilities (like an iron board, safe box, etcâŚ) We stayed here for 2 days, and it was a good stay. There were a couple of issues here & there, but that got sorted out, there was nothing to fuss about. There were 3 Elevators but one of them was not working. They had a pool as well. The common area is not that big but that serves the purpose. Location was excellent- conveniently located to the Myrtle Beach International Airport, Market Common Retail Complex, Whispering Pines Golf Course, and numerous retail and restaurant establishments, also just 2 blocks away from the beach . Myrtle boardwalk is 5 min drive. Overall nice stay- 3.5/5

DO NOT STAY HERE PEOPLE BREAK INTO YOUR CARS! I just went here for my daughter's birthday. My uhaul van was broken into twice. Yesterday 8-27-24 I came out and almost everything had been stolen out of my van. I have OCD and always hit the locks several times ensuring it's locked. The things they took were heavy so they had to have a car like a 22 lb bag of cat food, a large pack of water. They took almost everything! I believe an employee is either doing it or definitely helping. Why? Because they took time to rummage so they felt they were comfortable and wouldn't get caught. How does this occur? Someone on the inside or being an employee. When I reported it to a red roof employee he started there were other break ins. He said at about 5 am and it was on film. He also told me that all of us had left a door unlocked. Which I didn't. Again OCD. He also said that I could file a police report. Which I am doing because they broke in a second time today and stole the rest of the water I had in the van. What thief comes back the next day to hit the same vehicle? Someone that is comfortable and knows someone or is san employee themselves. My local address was on some mail so I will be watching closely and the police do know about you. Hitting our van twice is a real low life. We don't have money and barely have what we need. It took me months to save for the few days for my daughter's birthday. Several vehicles were hit and red roof employees knew and said nothing, and did nothing. This location is definitely a pass it by. I have never had anything like this occur and to be victimized twice in two days is unacceptable. The police have been notified and a report filed. The thief or thrives days of freedom are numbered. This location is also showing signs of mold and filth inside rooms and hallways. The room phones don't even work.

Some of the reviews I read would have scared me away from this property all to complete. Upon arrival and stay, however, it wasnât nearly as bad. Is there improvements that are needed? Definitely. But are they trying? It sure as hell seems so. For my whole stay I saw cleaning being done 3-4 times in other rooms, the front desk ladies were very conversational and pleasant the night of check-in and the lady at check-out was just as pleasant. The bathroom sink did not have very good drainage but it also was not something to ruin a trip over, just mildly annoying. The fridge worked quite fine froze when turned to max cooled when lowered. Furniture was sturdy would have liked a little dusting especially with the over bed lamps but not disgusting in the slightest merely regular dustiness. The sheets were clean (verified by a black light flashlight) it, however, did have 2 purposefully sliced holes in the comforter clean nonetheless. Other reviews mentioned the elevators so I will too, 1 elevator was down because of repairs, 1 had a floppy panel but worked regardless and the other worked fine just a bit slow. Overall a good stay especially if your goal is to be exploring the area and having fun instead of being in the hotel room for a large part of your stay. Again if I had read just the reviews I would not have stayed but everyoneâs experience is different, for the price paid it was a decent stay solid 3.5/5 experience.
